Guest guest
I always felt PSSD like long lasting anaesthesia. SSRI's are synthetic drugs made in a lab. they are not natural to the brain. their target is to relieve symptoms of depression by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and sometimes do succeed. but also even though called selective they are only relatively selective. they do affect the brain in unwanted ways as well. and since SSRIs are taken for a period of time those negative ways create some sort of distortion. receptors are affected, pathways are changed. a state of mind that comes with a price. everybody changes as a result of SSRIs. Its just that most people recover quickly close to 100% as prior medications and they can't tell the difference. others are left with long lasting side-effects, such as lost sence of smell, rubber feel of skin, cognitive problems, PSSD, pain in the chest..etc.and although tardive dyskinesia at the moment is considered permanent..I think PSSD is more of a sleepy state. distortion has been done, but deep inside the brain carries the genetic information of how it should function and with every single second is trying to go back to that state. now, we do know that the longer and higher the dose is the greater the risks one takes. the more difficult part is why many recover quickly to where they were (speaking mainly of PSSD as this is a PSSD forum) and others don't. the answer must be gentics, although not sure and other factors may play a role as well. either way, givving the brain time to recover is good, but not enough. we want a quicker recovery, so we must look for the right stimully. and I think the more different aproaches we take the better. 1.aromatherapy: the strongest memory the human brain has is related to smell. so there you go. remind the brain what it has forgotten. smell things. all type of smells that you have smelled in the past. remember that rose garden you udes to go by on the way to work - well stop by and smell the rouses. remember the parfume your first girlfriend had - it doesnt matter she broke your heart- stop by the parfum shop and try to find it. remember gramma's pancakes- if she is not around anymore-just make 'em yourself.(taste therapy too!!) remember your first pet, that stinky hamster.well stop by the petshop and smell their stinky asses. it doesnt have to be all nice, the important thing is to remind the brain.2.stay phisically active, fitness or go for a run. blood goes faster in the body. speeds up all kind of prosesses. recovery of damages too. it can give you an euphoric buzz too. I imagine thats good.3.stay in or create relationships. very important. it will give you more than you'll know. bondage chemicals, love chemicals, cuddle chemicals, lower cortisol, a feeling of not being alone in the universe, anger too sometimes- hey, a small dose is good sometimes. remember how sweet sex was after a little fight,eh!? ..lots examples here..4.go for a swim. best sport on this planet. very relaxing to mind and body. and takes your brain to the very beggining of things..the big 'bulllion' bad french spell it will take you back to mother nature.. we come from water..we ARE water ..just do it..its good for you5.friends..fun times.. don't isolate yourself..stay social..even if you don't quite fit in.. even if you feel you want to shoot yourself..stay social..talk to your friends..go out..live your life..this is you/our time NOW!! 6.cry!! if you feel like it, don't hold it back..relieve yourself..relieve emotions..don't be ashamed..you are a guy or a girl it doesnt matter.. if you feel it do it.. its good for you..cleans your body from nasty chemicals through your tears..7.herbs: read about them. educate yourself. if its safe and not going to hurt you - take it! try this! try that! stimulate those blocked receptors in your head! some people recover from them. I think is a matter of finding the right one ot right combination of herbs!8.EFA(ecential fatty accids) always take that.. either way is good for you9.Yoga - I think it sounds good10.have sex if you have a partner..don't hold back because of this condition.. if you can't get it up or feel nothing still do try..request a blow from your girlfriend..don't let the pepee forget whats all about..apetite comes with the food..and when it comes to satisfying your partner..buy lots of toys, use fingers, lick, bite, suck, spit, squeez, massage, cuddle, comfort, talk..and kiss kiss kiss.. don't forget to tell you love her/him.. hell..get married:) !!11.if you don't have a partner, start looking NOW12.share experinces with others..help others.. helping them is helping you13.don't forget to masturbate! regular blood flow is important14.be happy!! I know, in a way that one is a stupid one, if we were happy and didn't have to take those medications we wouldn't be here today..but I mean try.. do things that makes you feel good15.accept PSSD..but do fight back!! its strongly affecting the quality of our lives.. don't ever get comfortable with it!!16.Mo, FUCK OFF!!17., thank you soooo much!! SSRI's are > synthetic drugs made in a lab. they are not natural to the brain. Everyone might want to also see if they have undiagnosed diabetes type II or even type I . This can cause similar side-effects. About PSSD ; my understanding is that the brain can form new pathways in response to peripheral activity. That is why physical therapy works.Theoretically then, it should be possible to regain sexual function with repeated attempts at sexual excitation/arousal over time. But I do agree with the poster before about brain damage .
Guest guest
sakasakanya, you are very welcome. The biggest instant improvement to my sexuality i can REALLY say works--and this goes along with your post--is to re-awaken your IMAGINATION! I can feel ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in my genitals, yet if i IMAGINE a sexual scenario that is JUST RIGHT, i can feel an INSTANT return of some sensation. That is the method i use for orgasm and the only way i have one (mostly pleasurable, sometimes not). I can enjoy the intimacy i am experiencing yet still have complete genital numbness until i " hit " on the right fantasy. Then i have to GRAB ON to that thought and concentrate on what i am imagining to make it work. I think there is definitely something going on between the brain's connection to our genitals being damaged. I have re-trained myself to this new way--even though its not ideal it does work most of the time. lisa > > Subject: focus back on PSSD > To: SSRIsex > Date: Friday, January 9, 2009, 9:36 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I always felt PSSD like long lasting > anaesthesia.
