Terribly expensive, as well, and not covered by insurance, but hopefully there's someone in your neck of the woods who is good and affordable. I do think it's worth trying. Let us know how it works out... Guest guest
Trish, Max goes to Cranial Sacral Therapy once a week and more if I'm not sure whats bothering him. His therapist is excellent and can often tell where Max is twisted, or " stuck " , or tight and often " fixes " him. I seriously don't know what we would do without her. Max is non verbal so it really helps to have someone like her. We keep asking her when she is going to move in. Our therapist was an OT therapist before becomming a cranial sacral therapist so also full of good ideas. There is no major manipulation, it's very gentle. Guest guest
Charlotte- Did your therapist focus on his head? Craniosacral is not really " head " therapy. It is based upon the notion that there is a craniosacral system that flows through everyone's body, originating in the head, or brain area. Our therapist spends more time just applying very slight pressure to different areas of my son's body. The therapy is not supposed to be rubbing, as in a massage, but more using very light pressure (like 5 grams worth) on different body areas. I have to say my son loves it, and he normally doesn't like to be touched. It did take 2-3 sessions for him to adjust to the therapist, but now he loves it. > I found that some physical therapist have training in this type of > therapy. He doesn't like anyone rubbing his head. > I really can't tell if it helped but it does help for some kids. > charlotte
