Jodi,

My favorites are -Clay and Hoover's Breastfeeding Atlas, C.W. Genna's Supporting Sucking Skills in Breastfeeding Infants, The Nursing Mother's Herbal by Sheila Humphrey, Making More Milk by West and Marasco, and the new Womanly Art. I refer to the first several often and also use kellymom website to refer mom's to. Working without weaning is an excellent book, too. (can't remember author's name but first name is Kirsten and Hale publishing has it). Hope this helps and know there are other book out there also excellent for reference. Hale's Meds and Mother's Milk is a must have.

Barbara Latterner

Apologies to authors whose names excape me at the moment.

I second all of Barbara's choices (C.W. Genna has a new edition coming out).

I'd also add " Counseling the Nursing Mother by Lauwers and Swisher (which also

is out in a newer edition than what I have), which isn't a book you hear a lot

about, but has a lot of practical helpful compassionate approaches.

" The Breastfeeding Answer Book " is getting a bit old, but is still very useful

-- I got the new " Breastfeeding Answers Made Simple " which is kind of the new

version, but I haven't read it yet.

CW Genna's book " Selecting and Using Breastfeeding Tools " is also another

practical aid.

's " The Lactation Consultant in Private Practice: The ABCs " would

also help a new practice along. Is there a new edition of this?

Good luck.
