Guest guest
I had someone call me practically begging for help for her daughter. Her daughter's husband just left and she has 4 kids and one on the way. One of the kids, a three year old girl, has some kind of chromosome deletion. She has seizures, she can't walk talk or craw and is three years old. she has no head control. Has other problems requiring daily medications and treatments. High risk for pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses.... The grandmother wanted me to help her find a van because the daughter was going to be repossessed. I did some research and found an organization, called them and told them her situation. Guess what, they wanted to get her information and put it before they board and try to help her so I told her daughter to call them. I called the daughter to make sure she called them and here's what she said. Well, they asked me if my daughter (the three year old) had a life threatening or chronic illness and I told them NO and then they said I didn't qualify. I didn't know what to say because I thought that's why they called me in the first place. may not be sick all the time and he does not have a brain malformation that gets worse but I know he has a life threatening illness. His brain. You never know what will come up or what will happen and from what I can tell her child has a lot more problems than matthew' How does everyone feel about this? Maybe it's something she has not or will not accept as far as her daughter having a life threatening illness? If a child has uncontrolled siezures, I would think that would be considered life threatening? charlotte To read more about please visit: http://littleoddyssey.blogspot.com/ Don't forget to visit the Google ads when you visit our site!! --------------------------------- Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page
Guest guest
Yes uncontrolled seizures are life threatening or at least potentially life threatening. I know because my baby's seizures are uncontrolled and have been since November 2004. Her seizures last anywhere from 5 min to 40+ min!! Her baseline is 0-2 per day. She is currently on the Ketogenic Diet and on many antiseizure meds still. I have to administer Diastat as soon as she starts seizing. Her neurologist informed me that if we do not get her seizures under control soon, my baby will die! Elena mom to my beautiful Leah 2yrs with severe PMG, spastic quadraplegia, cerebral palsy, G-tube dependent, and on the Ketogenic Diet and many meds, 17 yrs and Emilio 11 yrs. Would you say your child has a Life Threatening Illness? For everyone I had someone call me practically begging for help for her daughter. Guest guest
Hi-my name is , mother of Katelyn who is diagnosed with neuronal migration disorder-a genetic disorder which affected the formation of the brain. Katelyn is also on the Ketogenic diet, and has helped tremendously(she used to have 100's of seizures a day) but we also administer meds as well to keep them at bay somewhat! Her neurologist did explain that Katelyn will live a happy life as long as we keep her heart, and lungs healthy. What a chore this has been-but we keep on top of her asthma and monitor her every move. I also wanted to tell you all about a program called M.A.P.S.-which integrates motor-and sensory stimulation-and is absolutely natural and without use of more drugs. Please try this seizure protocol-it works for Katelyn most of the time. When your child starts the seizure grab an ice pack(medium size) and strawberry essence oil(it is very hard to find natural strawberry oil-so use another fruit oil as long as it is natural). Place the ice pack directly onto the back of the neck(while they are smelling the oil on a cottonball) for one minute. Then move the ice pack to one of the underarms(while they are still smelling the fruit oil), then to the other underarm, then to the groin area right under the stomach. Keep rotating to the different body areas until the seizure subsides. Katelyn usually comes out of the siezure before our third movement. Katelyn also used to have seizures that would last 10 minutes or more-but with this protocol-she hardly even has to take her Ativan anymore. If this works for your child-and you want more information about the M.A.P.S. program-let me know by writing mccartyforchrist@.... Please do not cover the ice pack with a cloth-the brain needs to react to the cold-and always use the ice with the fruit oil for best effect. Please write and let me know-God be with your beautiful children-we all have a special work to do with them- " Esquivel, Elena " wrote:Yes uncontrolled seizures are life threatening or at least potentially life threatening.
