Guest guest
Charlotte, I have an underactive thyroid. I take Synthroid, I'm not familiar with Lemoxyl, but I would guess it's another brand name for synthetic thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormone has many functions, including regulating metabolism and body temperature. I don't think that there are actually any side effects caused by the synthetic hormone, but a too high dose can cause the same symptoms as an over-active thyroid; nervousness, weight loss, difficulty sleeping. It generally takes several weeks on the medication for it to start working. Likely, there will not be any effect noticeable to you, but blood tests will confirm if his thyroid level is where it should be. Hope this helps.
