Charlotte,

I have an underactive thyroid. I take Synthroid, I'm not familiar with

Lemoxyl, but I would guess it's another brand name for synthetic thyroid

hormone. Thyroid hormone has many functions, including regulating

metabolism and body temperature. I don't think that there are actually any

side effects caused by the synthetic hormone, but a too high dose can cause

the same symptoms as an over-active thyroid; nervousness, weight loss,

difficulty sleeping. It generally takes several weeks on the medication for

it to start working. Likely, there will not be any effect noticeable to

you, but blood tests will confirm if his thyroid level is where it should

be. Hope this helps.
