Lyla, what is a leaky gut? In my 39 year as an RN, I have never heard that term before, and I texted my general surgeon husband who said he never heard of that either.

leaky gut is pretty well established as contributing to protein sensitivities in babies who are breastfed – if a baby is reacting to, say, dairy, in a mom’s milk, those dairy proteins shouldn’t even be IN the milk – unless mom has a leaky gut – it’s the juncture between the cell walls in the gut – it allows whole proteins into the blood... I believe a baby can also have leaky gut, and that’s why eating foods can cause an allergic reaction or a sensitivity. maybe joy (a nutritionist) or someone else can share more info – as I’ve said, this has never been my favorite part of lactation
