Guest guest
Lyla, what is a leaky gut? In my 39 year as an RN, I have never heard that term before, and I texted my general surgeon husband who said he never heard of that either. Guest guest
leaky gut is pretty well established as contributing to protein sensitivities in babies who are breastfed – if a baby is reacting to, say, dairy, in a mom’s milk, those dairy proteins shouldn’t even be IN the milk – unless mom has a leaky gut – it’s the juncture between the cell walls in the gut – it allows whole proteins into the blood... I believe a baby can also have leaky gut, and that’s why eating foods can cause an allergic reaction or a sensitivity. maybe joy (a nutritionist) or someone else can share more info – as I’ve said, this has never been my favorite part of lactation lyla From: GIN11153 Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 11:12 AM To: ibclc-pp Subject: Re: sugars getting into milk from leaky gut?
