Ann, yeah for no meds for Stills but I know that doesn't mean free of

everything. I'm not sure what you mean by the other but hope it too will

turn out ok. Have a nice evening, Pattymelt

  • 2 years later...

I had a rheumy apt today... he found remarkable swelling in my right wrist and

hand (which sorta makes me nervous cuz I haven't really hand any problems yet

with my hands) swelling in the vertabrae of my neck and swelling in both elbows.

He gave me a referral to a neurologist for the palsy I have in my left hand. We

discussed how I am doing on the MTX.. and honestly no matter what we've tried so

far I haven't really seen any improvement. So after much debate we compromised

and I will be stopping the MTX, folic acid, and Arava... and I will be starting

weekly injections of Enbrel. He also gave me the pneumonia vaccine, a TB test

and checked my blood levels.... no xrays have shown any erosion which makes this

a difficult thing to prove to the disability board, but my rheumy says, just cuz

he can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. After he sees you in the

examination room... he has you come into his office so he can dictate for your

chart and you can listen in, in case he leaves

something out or you think of something else... He was speaking into his

recorder and he said " Patient is extremely fatigued and seems to experience

chronic malaise. " he clicked off the machine and looked at me and said... " I

know I didn't ask if this was true, but you look like crap, so I'm thinking I'm

right. " I nodded and thought to myself it was probably one of the first times in

the last 3 years, somebody got it and I didn't feel like an idiot for saying how

tired I was. So now, I wait for my insurance to ok the Enbrel and see him again

in 6 weeks and the neurologist next month.

I hope everyone is having a warm and pain-free day. God bless.
