Guest guest
I have given it a lot of thought but I really can't say I've done anything differently. The only thing that has been different is the fact that I finally slept well for three nights in a row after suffering from insomnia. My insomnia was pretty bad, I woke up every single night at about 3 am. and couldn't sleep a minute more. As I woke up I felt dizzy, like I was an a boat or something. This went on for three weeks and then it stopped and I was able to sleep ok. Three nights of good sleep and the positive change occurred. Guest guest
If your PSSD would return, you could repeat and simulate this bad sleep rithm to experiment with the consequences on your PSSD. It would also be very usefull if you (and other PSSD patients) would keep a diary of your (their) sexual functioning, as well as other possible relevant factors like food, medication use, alcohol and drug use, stress and all physical symptoms and stresfull events. After a few years these diaries can be used for scientific evaluation, trying to find the mechanism, exact cause and cure of PSSD. ..................... bikercompanywrote: I have given it a lot of thought but I really can't say I've done anything differently. Guest guest
that's interesting, i had one day about a month ago where i got spontaneous erections through out the day, it felt like my sex drive had fully returned but the next day it was gone. when this happened i was sleep deprived. > > > > thats great news! i know its not good to look into things or analyze > > things to much when you have got pssd but id like to ask you had been > > doing something differently leading up to this experience, i.e. a > > change in your routine or life style, working a lot or having a break > > from thinking about pssd, or anything really that's not routine to > > you? >
Guest guest
Hi all, I have some more good news to share with you. Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've had yet another very promising experience. By far the best one after getting PSSD. Ok... After the strong libido comeback I told you about, I first had an aggressive setback. I went numb again, so numb in fact that it made me really worried and scared. I was unable to hug my wife, because physical closeness brought a cold shiver to my spine... PSSD at it's worst. But I didn't panic because I've been there before. It's just a fluctuation and I seem to " bounce back " stronger and stronger. Like I did just a couple of days later. I swear to God I am now closer to normal sexuality than ever before! Orgasm's are more intense than anything I've ever experienced... even when I was healthy! During the orgasm my penis is super sensitive, and the pleasure is everything it's supposed to be. After having the first super strong orgasm in years I got a bad headache. It was like fireworks inside my head. This happened four days ago... Something is changing, that's for sure. I can now respond to visual stimuli, orgasm takes me by surprise, I don't have to try hard to ejaculate. If I watch porn I'm instantly hard. The feeling of arousal and desire follows shortly after. Through physical stimulation and fantasies I can feel very horny. Now I masturbate because it feels so incredibly good, a few days before I only did it to see IF I could feel something. There's a huge difference. To sum things up: -Orgasm is now very very close to normal. -Visual stimuli is working, just not quite as strong as it should. -Fantasies do the trick. My brain finally remembers what sex is all about. -My emotions are coming back. Kissing, touching, smelling my wife's hair and all other small things now make me feel something. I didn't even realize how much the emotional side has been lacking during PSSD. -Genital sensitivity is slowly getting better. During orgasm I'm very sensitive, but before that I'm still quite numb compared to what I was before PSSD. The most remarkable thing is that this is the fifth good day in a row. I've been having sex five times a day and every single time I do it I seem to feel better and better. So believe me, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed... I have been trying to figure out why this is happening to me. What is it that I have done right? I really don't know. After trying the thyroid-drug Armour I have not taken any medication. I've been taking multivitamins and zinc, and eating just like before. I work out five times a week... (well now that I think of it I have had seven days off as the gym is closed during holidays.) And I go to the sauna four times a week. That's it. All this feels like a miracle to me. Maybe God finally heard my prayers... Anyways I'll keep you posted. Guest guest
Maybe it is better to keep using it rather than not use it for recovery. btw are you doing dry or steam sauna ? > > Hi all, > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've had > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
Excellent. I also go through the same " cycles " - I'll go a couple weeks where I feel numb sexually, but then my body rebounds for a while and erections come much easier. I never feel close to 100% during these " up " periods though. But it gives me hope. Maybe the sauna is helping you a bit. A couple months ago, I did 3 hardcore sessions in an infrared sauna. I also did a 4 week course of high dose niacin. During treatment, I didn't really feel any better and the sauna made me really tired afterwards. However, a week or so after stopping, I started to feel much better energy and mood wise. I think it's really important to replenish the body with vitamins/minerals and stay hydrated as well. Guest guest
Interetsing. It makes ense that you wouldn't feel better until after quitting the sauna regimen because during treatment the blood concentration of presumed chemical residues would theoretically be higher than normal because they are being purged from the body. Guest guest
vornan interesting! it probably wouldn't be the actual ssri compound that's still in the body, but as i suspect its what the drug has been broken down into that does the harm. this would explain why this has happened to me after only a short time on (ssri) citalopram ( which has the longest half life of all the ssris), as i also have Gilbert's syndrome. Gilbert's syndrome is a benign liver condition. the liver has two detoxification pathways phase one and phase two, in Gilbert's syndrome there's a reduction of the enzymes responsible for phase two. this is bad because when drugs/chemicals are detoxified they are most often broken down into a more harmful substance than the initial one. alcohol for instance breaks down through phase one into methanol which is a more harmful substance than the alcohol was initially. so in gilberts syndrome the more harmful substance is in the body for a greater period of time before phase two eliminates it, in some cases upto 50% longer. > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > > > > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've > had > > > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
I wish I could do the infrared sauna more often. However - very expensive and I need to take the entire day out of work. It makes me so tired all I want to do is sleep all day. Doesn't help that they only do morning sessions during the week. I plan on trying another 3-4 sessions early this year. Guest guest
I did some regular saunas last month, 15 minutes followed by an alternating cold/hot shower, 4 times for an hour. Felt good, made my skin soft, I plan on keeping this up. It would be easier to do if I didn't have to sit in the sauna with naked old guys who seem a little too proud of their balls. Guest guest
just to add some thing to this, if im rite and its what our body's break the ssri down into that does the harm then this could be an interesting thing to try and research. does anyone know what chemical/substance they are broken down to? or if the drug company's have published this kind of information? or if this information would be available through the regulators? if we could find out what it is we could research its biological effects and see if its harmful or not. if this information is not available through the drug company's then it could be legally significant, if they haven't evaluated what the ssri compound breaks down to in the human body it could be look at as " negligence " , especially if its discovered to be harmful! anyone that reads this that has any information on how to find out this information please let me know, it could end up shedding a great deal of light on the effects were experiencing and possibly a new direction for treatment.. > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > > > > > > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've > > had > > > > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
I have GIlbert's Syndrome too, and I am really interested in this link between PSSD symptoms and the syndrome. Any ideas on how to overcome this? As in, what can you do to get rid of the chemical compounds which may still be in your liver? > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > > > > > > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've > > had > > > > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
Thanks Biker. Good for you. Please keep us informed. More PSSD patients might experiment with zinc addition in proper doses?
Guest guest
One could try a sauna at times when there are people to whom one feels sexually attracted. (May be men or women.) Cause it wouldn't surprise me if sufficient mental sexual arousal would be part of the solution for PSSD. I stronly believe that the medication is the cause of de PSSD. But the body might possible heal itself a bit in the long run, if sufficient sexual stimulation is provided. And a situation with real sexual tension is often more sexualy stimulating than sex with a spouse or watching porn. This is only hypothetical, though it is a fact that being in love has tremendous (temporary) biological impact on the hormonal and neurunal system of people. By the way, I think it is important to do nothing that a steady intimite partner may not know about. Or else a supporting intimate relationship may collapse. It may be possible though to make agreements with the steady partner about somewhat intimate behaviour where other people are involved. But there is always a risk that the steady intimate relationship does not survive this experiment. Same goes for prostitution. And of course (in sexually risky situations) care should be given to proper prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy. > > I did some regular saunas last month, 15 minutes followed by an > alternating cold/hot shower, 4 times for an hour. Guest guest
Light Therapy is NOT the same as infrared light therapy, but often relieves depression that is (partly) caused by lack of light. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_therapy Ultra Violet Light can also help relieve depression, but should never be used too often and only with adequate protection of the eyes. Too much exposure to Ultra violet Light may enlarge the chance of getting skin cancer and stimulates skin aging. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_violet General physical health advice has often positive effects on all kinds of mental symptoms and problems. (food, sleep, hygiene, skin care, exercise, etc.)
Guest guest
thats interesting your the second guy with gilberts syndrome ive met on here the other being pumapride12. it looks like there may be a link here with liver metabolism and pssd. im working out what supplements to take at the moment, but i suppose liver and gall bladder flush, coffee enemas and infra red sauna is good place to start as well as multi vitamin & minerals. p.s. ive only recently found out that gilberts syndrome gives you higher chance of getting gynacamastia, only after many hours of research did i find this link and i cant find any explanations why this is the case, but looking at it there's a possibility of some sort of feminine hormone thing going on. i think it would be good to start a new topic for gilberts syndrome. > > > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > > > > > > > > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've > > > had > > > > > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
I'm very glad to tell you that things are still looking good. No setback this time, in fact I think my libido is still getting stronger. Visual stimuli does not hit me as hard as it should, but add some physical stimulation and I'm feeling horny in a few seconds. The anticipation and desire before sex is not yet as strong as it should be, but the pleasure I get from sex (intercourse) is pretty close to normal! Sometimes I have to hold back to prevent premature ejaculation. Things have improved more than words can describe. A few days ago I was completely numb. Now I'm feeling great sexual pleasure. The positive impact this whole thing has had on my life is tremendous. I smile as I get out of bed every morning! Genital sensitivity is also getting better. The sensitivity fluctuates during the day, but the " baseline " is slowly improving. I sleep naked and now I can actually feel the texture of my bedsheets on my penis. =) Before I felt nothing down there, now I'm constantly aware of the fact that I have male genitals and it's great! :-D In general I'm feeling much more " normal " . Hard to describe the feeling exactly, but I'm aware of the connection between my brain and genitals... About the sauna: I'm from Finland and here pretty much everyone has a finnish dry sauna. It's pretty hot (80 degrees of celsius), and I spend a good half an hour there at least four times a week. There's also something I forgot to mention... something I didn't realise until now. I've told Vornan before that I've had a problem with sweaty feet for quite some time. My feet were soaked with cold sweat all day, and the smell was horrible. But it was not the smell you'd expect (plain sweat), my feet had a " chemical odour " to them. Really strange. Now the problem (and the smell) is gone! My feet stay dry inside my shoes and I only need one pair of socks per day. I don't know if this is related to my returning sexuality, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Guest guest
Congratulations...this is great. It was so helpful for me to read your post and helps me understand my husband better. My husband has made significant gains in the past two weeks. > > > > Hi all, > > > > I have some more good news to share with you. > > > > Since the last good incident which I reported on the board I've had > > yet another very promising experience. Guest guest
" neurunal " was misspelled. I meant " neurological " , so referring to the nervous system. it is a fact that being in love has tremendous (temporary) biological impact on the hormonal and neurunal system of people. Guest guest
thats interesting my feet dont really sweat much but they do get clammy from time to time, they dont really smell at all and never have any shoes or running shoes ive owned have smelt at all (they smell the same as when they were new, even if ive had them for many years), but the funny thing about the sweat that comes out of my feet is it smells identical to vinegar, this has always been the case and ive always thought that its something weired about me. > > > > Maybe it is better to keep using it rather than not use it for > > recovery. btw are you doing dry or steam sauna ? >
