Hi all, I've written other emails and asked for some help/advice, but I've broadened my request...

I work at a small hospital in Upper Michigan as a Nurse in the Labor Delivery/Nursery. We only have a well baby nursery here, we transport the sick ones out. We have about 30-40 births a month here. I work 2 twelve hour shifts a week, days.

Anyhow, I just recently passed the exam and am certified as of October....My work paid for me to take the online class and the exam. Since I passed I have been helping patients on my own time or when I'm at work. I asked multiple times if we can get this thing going, promote me, use me, PAY ME!! I have been asked to teach the "Feeding Choices" class, which my first one is Tuesday.

Anyhow, I don't understand how they can't "figure out" how to pay for me. Apparently they've called the Home Health Agency that my hospital has and she doesn't have anything either. I'm getting very frustrated and need some help. How can I be responsible for finding the ICD-9 codes? I have no idea about billing codes.

I will do anything to get this thing going. Part of me wants to just go into Private Practice, but I just can't afford to do that right now.

I've told them I'll come up with a sample job description (samples would be appreciated also!!!).

I don't even have a business card to give out at my Feeding Choices Class....no number to call me at!

HELP WISE LADIES~!!!!

Sorry this email is so disorganized! My mind is going in many different directions right now.

Thanks alot

Nanci Klein

I am unclear what you are asking for, and since this is a private practice list, suggestions for hospital based lactation work are not really appropriate for the list. or are you asking how to go into private practice??
