Guest guest
, Will i be able to tell if Riley has small seizures?? They asked if she ever stared into space prior to sleeping, but we put her to bed when she is asleep and she falls asleep on her own. I just don't know if i would recognize small ones. Some of them are blatent and some of them are subtle. My son's school said they thought Teddy was " flaking out " at times and perhaps were having seizures. He was also constantly losing abilities. ONe day he could do a simple puzzle and the next day he'd forgotten how again. We did an EEG (or is an EKG) I get confused..the brain wave one anyway it showed that his brain waves were not normal but didn't show any seizures AT THE TIME OF THE EEG but the neurologist suggested a trial of Tegretol. His abilites jumped once he was on the medication. He remembered puzzles (and other skills he'd learned) and was able to build on them. Point is if you find your child backsliding on things learned then check with your neurologist. It's possible your child will never have seizures but with a malformed brain it is quite possible at some point some electrical current going from one part to the other of the brain will misfire and then you'll have seizures. There is a lot to take in and starting with sign language is good. The next step is to start the therapies that you'll need.
