Guest guest
I forgot to update you on this yesterday... To those who are coming along to Yum Cha tomorrow - mmm well - I rang the restaurant yesterday where we had a few language difficulties!!! They tell me that I am not allowed to book a table, but I actually had booked two tables. They told me that any tables that were booked have now been cancelled because it was done by someone who didn't know what they were doing. However, I have called them back this morning and spoken to a gentleman who seemed to have some sort of idea as to what I was trying to tell him. He said sorry for the mistake, we usually do not take table bookings for Sunday Yum Cha, but turn up and we will get you in as quickly as possible. So, I am planning to get to the restaurant at about 11.10am. If you cannot see me waiting outside for a table still... that I am inside with a table for 10. This could be interesting!!!! All part of the Yum Cha experience I suppose... I will see you all there. Mel
Guest guest
Mel challenges are really great, however the " fatty " in me doesn't do well under this sort of pressure - it tends to put me into sabotage mode - my eating goes on auto pilot. as you know I have a wedding to go to this weekend and desperately wanted to look stunning in my outfit and lose the couple of kilos I have put on, but once I fix that in my head, I go off the rails. I also want to hit the 70's before I leave for Europe and the more I think about it the more likely I am to get myself back into the 90's instead. I have done all the head stuff and I know why I eat etc, but I still have trouble controlling it, and perhaps that is the key word - I need to go back to a few basic rules for myself, a TV free night each week and get quilting - keeps my hands and mind busy and out of the fridge. Even today I have come into work with much more food than I need and know that a couple of things will have to be thrown out today if I don't eat them, perhaps I need to go and bin them now and bugger the waste - drats the obese person in me is not happy today. However having said that I think Sue's ideas were great and yes let's put out head down and try and work out something for ourselves. One thing I'd like people to share is " what motivates them " ? what are everyone's personal tactics for staying on track and being a good bandit. What tips do people use for themselves. It might be nice to start a page in the files. I think we can all pick up some ideas from each other that may help. As I said, for me, a TV free night works wonders - it is a huge trigger with my eating when I am glued to the box all night. Cheers Cherie > > > > > It was as always lovely to see everyone.
