Guest guest
Hi Betty, It has help alot even though lately I have had more pain in feet I will be seeing my RA Monday so I will discuss it with him then. I did start getting digestive problems but I found if I watched what I ate I was o.k. One thing I have noticed I have to have some carbs during the day or at night for energy the next day. I was on low carb diet but found with my thyroid problem makes you fatigue as does RA so some days are rougher than others. But the other day we ordered pizza, which has been a year since I had any, the next day I had alot more energy. I ride horses for a living so I need the energy I was also noticing I was more short with people didn't want to waste the energy to talk at times but that has started getting better. Sorry I do go on. Marsha
Guest guest
Marsha I do not buy the low low carb glycemic index things. It flies in the face of things I see that I know from experience. Loosing weight can relate to it, but not diabetic glucose levels. I know many people say it works for them, if so good. Many are horrified whit my system When I first began to see my glucose level beginning to rise and that was long before it was. I started acting, doing the same as if I were full blown except medications. I am not overweight which is important. I progressively lower my carb count as necessary to control the glucose. When I got to the point that I could not eat any carbs my digestive system had really suffered. Yes, I think carbs are needed to keep your systems healthy. High carb consumptions is bad for ever one. You can't get away with eating anything or everything but the diet must be balanced. I eat carbs in a moderate amount. One thing that I have learned is that if your glucose is high and you take medication some carbs taken along with the medication, oral or insulin, it works better. Many people are afraid of carbs especially when the glucose is high. Lilly Drug company had given me that information but I never knew how or why it worked. Recently I found the answer and that is how the body handles glycation kinetics. Remember I am not a doctor, am not suggesting anything but how my personal experience.
