I thought this was a very good point. It would be nice if Tim Bolen

or somebody similar would get on this bandwagon.

From Dr Greensmith:

PERMISSION TO FORWARD, REPOST ONLINE, PUBLISH IN NEWSLETTERS.

Sunday Express Letters.

Cc: Alison Gordon, Journalist.

People who fraudulently claim disability benefit are rightly accused of

idleness and cheating the taxpayer.  They have benefits taken away, may

have to repay ill-gotten gains and some face legal action.

For complete balance, in an otherwise fair and thought-provoking article,

Incapacity benefit skivers who dodge check-ups by a doctor (Sunday Express,

5 February 2006), Alison Gordon may wish to enquire and report back whether

there are any reciprocal sanctions for government-appointed doctors who

declare a claimant fit for work but who is discovered, in trying, to be

unable and has to be re-signed to benefits, after an expensive appeals

procedure, also at taxpayers' expense?  Are there any limits to the number

of individuals, or the number of times the same individual, can be

erroneously assessed fit for work before medical competence is called into

question and has any doctor ever been dismissed from the post for any reason?

Yours sincerely

Greensmith
