I joined because we are adopting an 11 year old girl from Russia who MIGHT have asthma. I say "might" because she's been diagnosed in Russia. We had her here as part of an orphan hosting program and she was seen 3 times here in the US by a Russian doctor who lives here in the USA, who questions the diagnosis. (They sent her over here with pneumonia!!!) I have heard from many in the adoption community that Russian orphans are often mis-diagnosed. HOWEVER, I want to be prepared in case she does have asthma. I was wondering what kinds of changes I might need to make in our home. I was wondering specifically about air purifiers. . .does anyone have any experience with these? Do they really help? Thanks! Also, I need to do a writing assignment each week for Exploring World History, so I might as well work on something relevant to my life. Plus Mom has been bugging me to write about Russia, and she has a big box of chocolates." -- from a report by Ian on why he has chosen Russia for his Nation Project for World History www.xanga.com/millermessenger Please note that our adoption prayer update list is now on Yahoo groups.
