Guest guest
Hi, My son is a severe asthmatic. Although since being put on Advair and upped to the 250 dosage he seems to be doing alot better. He's even been able to do short sprinting on the track team (although it does keep him from being really good...it is good for his lungs and body to exercise). He is a patient at Children's Medical Center in Dallas which is a WONDERFUL facility with a great out patient clinic. It is suppposed to be one of the best asthma hospitals in the country. I have taken two 2 hour asthma education classes in the last 4 years and learned ALOT that specialists never told me when they " diagnosed " him at age 1 since it ran severely on one side of his family and I found out being adopted (when I had to get updated family medical history for my health problems) that it ran on the other as well severely. Winters are terrible for us and they are remodeling the schools here and he has been attending two in the past 3 years with extensive work dust, painting, cleaning, and it has wreaked havoc on his health (and teachers and other asthmatics there). I miss alot of work with him being ill. I have problems holding jobs....I am a really GOOD hard worker which saves me though. Well this is long but I have no one to really talk to about this that understands. Thanks, in Dallas PS you'll find I have no short stories lol
