This is obviously a huge generality and just my experience, but I have not yet met a pulmonologist I like. All of the ones I have gone to have quite the "God complex". They are right and everyone else is wrong. I currently endure my monthly appointments with the pulmo simply because it is so much work to change. I don't want to have to go through all of the extensive testing again. It is nice that at least he knows my history. I think that it is worth a lot to have a dr who will listen to you. They may not be as knowledgeable about asthma, but he/she should be willing to research options that are best for you.
