Guest guest
Hi May 12 ME Awareness Day I’ve done my annual interview for Ridings FM local radio for Wakefield (City of my birth) and the Five Towns, of which Castleford (town of my current residence) is one. Among the issues I covered in addition to explaining the causes and symptoms and severity were: The need for it still to be taken seriously and as a definite illness Time to separate the wheat from the chaff, separate ME from other fatigable illnesses, then we know what we are dealing with, and that those who say such treatments have cured their ME eg aloe vera, CBT may well have cured a similar fatigable illness. It is time ME was taken from the umbrella of CFS and given its individuality, particularly as we have one prominent Dr who suffers who says that post exertional malaise, (which I explained about) is prominent in ME but not other fatigable illnesses. The need for greater funding for research and the current state of play with the CFSRF, the fact that they have been promised in imunomodulatory drug all they need is the funding, preferably from Government or the MRC and how local people could donate to a local appeal I am running in the local paper. Extracts from my interview will be broadcast in 25 second segments after the hourly news bulletins. Ridings FM broadcasts on 106.8, my thanks to them for once again helping promote ME in Wakefield and the Five Towns Trev
