Guest guest
The Paper of the Month in this issue of Phoenix Rising is by some Japanese researchers that showsfor the first time parts of the brains of CFS patients shutting down when they are fatigued. A second section contains Part I or a two part overview of the mystery of Fibromyalgia. In this first part we look at evidence that FMS is a brain disease. This issue also contains Part III of the ongoing examination of the important NIH Neuroimmune Grant. Part I examined the symposium the grant was based on; Part II look closely at the grant itself, and Part III, Reviewing the Reviewers, takes a look at a very contentious subject - the reviewers that decide the fate of the applications. CFS advocates have argued that the makeup of the review panel has resulted in bias and incompetence and has contributed to the poor showing of the NIH in the last few years with regards to CFS research. THe April issue of Phoenix Rising will appear shortly; the May issue will begin a series of overviews of the Pharmacogenomics papers recently published by the CDC.
