Yes, they also call it an " ocular Migraine " . I've worked for an

ophthalmologist for 15 years and it's quite common. A lot of people experience

a " zig zag " in their vision when they focus on something. There is some

blurring, and sometimes some flashing. What's interesting is that, generally,

these patients don't know it's a migraine becuz there is no 'headache'. All the

symptoms are visual disturbances, although they may preceed a headache.

Yes, I always get the blurry vision, a lightheaded feeling, and white flashy

lights before my migraines hit. I can catch them right then with meds, but

if it happens while I'm sleeping, and I can't catch them, I wake up with

full blown migraines that take 3 days to get rid of. They come with all of

the symptoms too.

I was diagnosed by my neurologist with migraines after consulting her for severe

vertigo about seven years ago. My trigger is, almost exclusively, artificial

sweeteners. It took a good eight weeks to clear my system of all of them, and

feel better. Now, one can of diet pop can send me spinning. Any artificial

sweetener will do it. Go figure

Hi :)

After reading whats been posted about migraines, I think what I

thought was vertigo may actually be reoccuring, untreated migraines.

Thanks everyone! I already made a doctor appt.

Donna- In a word... WOW! You're so lucky to have discovered the

culprit. Those artificial sweeteners are more dangerous than most

realize.

Many neurologists believe they should be removed from the market, and many

question how they passed FDA approval.

Hi Jane,

I have heard of migraines without the head pain, but other symptoms. This must

be them.

I think I get them some, but mostly I get the migraine too.

Hi,

Yes, I stay with plain ole sugar when I want a sweetner.

Good Luck to you Rhonda, my migraines decreased dramatically once the CFIDS

stepped in....I suffered from the time I was 17 (I'm 43 now) I can totally

relate.
