Guest guest
My daughter was dx'd with FM at age 15. She had a tough go for about 1 yr. She was fine for 5 yrs. Now she's now 21, finishing school & having a lot of fatigue & pain issues. I would do anything for her not to have the life of pain/fatigue that we have. I have always been of the belief that you have to stop it quickly (if you can) & do anything you can. I suggested she rest, drink plenty of liquids, reduce her stress & stretch..... In our day & age with doctors not agreeing that CF/FM is a disease, & that it's all in our head. Now knowing what we do & with 20/20 hind sight what would you suggest people do? Do we/they just try to get by? Is that all we can do? Just do the best we can? I personally have done nothing but get worse throughout the last 20 yrs. My doctor asks now & then if I am any better than when I started with him. I want to say yes, but I have to say no. He has helped so much. I feel bad saying no, but.... I haven't gotten better. Have you? What is your experience? What is your advice to someone who is just dx'd? What would you suggest they do?
