I find this

hard to believe. Were spammers allowed to vote?

asthma

The following asthma poll is now closed. Here are the

final results:

POLL QUESTION: Now that control of this group has been granted to several of

us, should we keep this group as a public group?

A public group will not require an application to join. It is public now.

A private group will make it so people will have to fill out an application and

have it approved by a moderator.

CHOICES AND RESULTS

- YES (Keep public), 20 votes, 55.56%

- NO (Make private), 16 votes, 44.44%

I was very surprised also, and of course the spammers could vote (anyone can become a members).

Maybe some of our members will re-think this poll.

Thanks

Donna. Can’t the moderators just pick something? Didn’t all the

moderators want it to be private?

The spam

vote is obviously so silly – it doesn’t really make sense.

There is no owner and there were no moderators up until a few weeks

ago.

I agree that spamers would not vote in polles. I get messages every

time someone joins and leaves a group. There have been several

spamers who join, post spam then leave the group within one hour.

Many of these spam messages have been deleted by me or another

moderator before anyone else could see it.

I created the poll because I wanted to get everyones opinion on the

subject. The poll results stand. We will keep the group public.

Please do not respond to spam in this group. One of the moderators

will find it, delete it then ban the author.
