Guest guest
Hi Mel: You have every right in the world to feel down about this dx - it is not a fun disease to have. However, at least you have a positive dx and a name for the monster you must fight. Your doctor will be able to treat you correctly with the meds available for RA, and hopefully, within a few months, you will be feeling much better. My prayers are with you - hang in there - Kathe in CA --- <pmwheeler@...> wrote: > hi guys > well a firm diagnosis at last. i know that i was > pretty sure i had > the ra but it still is a shock to have the dx > confirmed. the doc has > put me on naprosyn until i can get to the rheumy, > luckily they've fit > me in this friday. > i will be starting on sulphasalazine and directly > after christmas i'm > giving up smoking (yes i know not good, but i just > can't give it up > before then) and then i'll be back on my > naturopathic diet and really > concentrating on my exercise > > sorry to be so down but i feel really sad this > afternoon > chat soon > mel > > > > > > > Kathe in CA __________________________________________________
Guest guest
A few years ago, a friend of mine applied for SSD because of her RA and other problems. She had been swearing for a long time that she did have it and her doctor said so. Well, when the SS folks started looking into her application, they found that she never had RA, so naturally she was denied. She also moved out of state and never mentioned having RA again. I guess sometimes you can say it long enough to believe it yourself. It's certainly not something anybody would want to have.
