Very Sick On Prednisone Dose To Help Newly Diagnosed MS

Hi everyone.

I hope you are all well and ready for the busy holiday season that's just

around the corner. I am done my shopping, or as close to it as I am

going to get! There will be some gift certificates this year, but that way

people can purchase what they want.

It's been a rough year for me, waking up with RA on January 11th with

no real prior symptoms, just totally immobile and ended up in the ER.

Teeth started crumbling, dry mouth/eyes and was then also diagnosed

with Sjogren's in June. And as if that wasn't enough, I have been in and

out of hospital for almost 2 months now with what has now been

diagnosed as Multiple Sclerosis.

I am dealing with it all well, just really focusing on making Christmas

very special for my boys. I started med therapy for the MS yesterday,

and it's a 10 day course of Prednisone. I am shocked at the amount,

and the pharmacist called the doc to make sure, but I take 1250mg of

Prednisone one day, skip a day, take 1250mg again, skip another day

and so on for a 10 day period.

Well, today was day 1 with 25 of the 50 mg tablets to swallow 30

minutes after Gravol and after I'd eaten a substantial breakfast. I've

had a Gastric Bypass, so this wasn't easy to do. It took 2 hours of

finding and making room for the fluid, food and pills.

I don't know what to say other than I just don't feel right. I am edgy,

can't sit still, and I am just vibrating from head to toe. I feel like my

head is going to explode from the massive headache I have.

They had hoped the Prednisone with bring back my vision which I have

lost and restore feeling to the left side of my body. The Neurologist

said it would help with the RA symptoms as well.

Anyone else been on this high of a dose, and feel so out of sorts???

Happy Holidays everyone,
