Guest guest
This is my third time on Predizone in 2 months. This time I'm getting blisters in my throat and back of my mouth. And all over I feel humb and it makes me painful and hard to walk. My friend was on it and got blisers all over her feet and real bad in her throat, so bad she could hardly breath. Guest guest
Hi Char, I am just curious if the prednisone is helping your asthma at all? it sounds like you have to go through an awful lot of side effects, but i guess they're worth it if you breathe better-i guess it's a trade off-lol. Prednisone has never helped my asthma, I was even on it last year at pretty high doses for 2 months. Advair 500/50 is the only thing that i have found to help me and even that does not help me enough as far as i'm concerned. I have tried singulair, asthmanex, allergy meds like clairitin and flonase-no results except the advair---at least there is something. I actually get more relief from the alternative therapies that I do alongside advair and maxair rescue inhaler. just hoping that the prednisone is helping you more than hurting you. angela in NY --- char from Spokane wa wrote: > This is my third time on Predizone in 2 months. > This time I'm getting blisters in my throat and back > of my mouth. Guest guest
The perscription of Predisone is first 3 day days take 8 pills, next 3 days 6 pills, next 3 days take 4 pills, next 3 days take 2 pills and last 3 days take 1 pill. I'm down to the 2 pills per day and the Asthma is coming back already. The Predisone has not helped me like it did the first two times. And each time I finished the Predisone before, the Asthma came back full blast as soon as I finish. So, the Predisone is only temporary relief for me. The VA won't try me on anything else. They said the VA Pulmonologist has to okay something else because the others are so expensive. My next pulmonologist appt isn't until Jun 25. Advair seemed to help me alot better than Asmanex or Predisone. And the Pulmonologist says it takes a good 6 weeks to get back in control once one has an Asthma attack. I took my Asmanex, Foradil, and Combivent at 9pm and at 11pm I started having bad pain in my chest and back of my shoulders(the pain that comes with an Asthma attack). The meds never carry me through 4 hrs. I'm trying to wait till midnight(4 hrs total). I'll have my allergy results in a few days. Maybe that will shed some light but I'm concerned that a blood panel might not show true results. I'm also concerned that all this mold in this mobile that I already know I'm allergic to is causing problems. I really don't want to move right at this moment and get into some thing more expensive. And also I don't know if it's the mold that's causing the problem for sure. The mold has been here since I bought the place. And they didn't tell me there was mold when I bought it and it was an "as is" deal. And the mold hasn't bothered me at all and then I get the Asthma because of the flu. I'll be selling the mobile when I move back east but not yet as I have a 15 yr old son in Montana w/problems. When the kids and I were driving him to Montana, my Asthma was acting up. I hope it's not the cats that I'm allergic to now. We'll see soon. They burn along I-90 in Idaho and Montana. I could go on and on but this is getting long. It's frustrating for you too I can see. I wish we'd all get better. We definetely need more research and meds for Asthma. I've read that Asthma is the # 3 killer. Guest guest
Those are not normal side effects for prednisone. You should get back to your doctor IMMEDIATELY. > > This is my third time on Predizone in 2 months. This time I'm getting blisters in my throat and back of my mouth. Guest guest
Char, Can you send me the links to those articles or information to that fact? I have had family members caution me to get asthma under control or it could result as such, ...I wish they understood how much of a battle it is, to get it under control and that nothing seems to work... char from Spokane wa wrote: I just read that asthma can lead to Emphysema.
