Guest guest
Hi, my name is Sue and I'm 45 years old. I'm new here; but now to CFS or Fibromyalgia. I've had both of them for about 21 years now. My question is, did any of you get immunizations of any kind just prior (within a year) or getting sick? Sue
Guest guest
Sue, I think with myself I had problems as a kid. I remember being so tired even after waking up. I had eye floaters in my twenties and a lot of stress from my first marriage. Things got worse after the birth of my daughter in the early 80's. Then I divorced in 95 things went bad a year later. I have been sick since. If I watch my diet, gluten-free, sugar free and low starch and low carbs, I do so much better. I follow the SCD diet. The book Breaking the Vicious Cycle explains the diet. It has even me about 80% of my life back. Thinking back, I think I did have a flu shot in the early to mid 90's through work. Naturally, I lost that good job years ago because of my illness. Guest guest
Hi Sue, my ME came on quite gradually so it's hard to say what may have triggered it, or exactly when it started, but I had a Rubella jab about the time I got ill. I'm fairly sure it was shortly before I got ill but of course I had no reason to think it would be important at the time so didn't make a note of when it was. It was only a few years ago - several years after the event - that it occurred to me it may have been a trigger. Helen.x > > Hi, my name is Sue and I'm 45 years old. Guest guest
Nope, not me, at least not that I remember (Ha!) Jane Sue wrote: Hi, my name is Sue and I'm 45 years old. Guest guest
Me too. It was not am immunization that triggered my illness but a serious infection. THANK YOU to everyone who gave me their wonderful perspective on CFS & divorce. I'll let you know what happens. My fingers are crossed. Gentle Hugs, P.J. > Hi, my name is Sue and I'm 45 years old. Guest guest
Sue, I had immunizations prior to traveling abroad in 1976. I believe I had a polio booster, tetanus booster, etc. We left the U.S. In early July, so I probably had the immunizations in June. I got the 'flu, for the first time in my life, in London, in early August, 1976. My toddler son, who also had never been ill, got sick first, then I caught it. My son recovered completely, but after that first two week bout of 'flu, I've never been completely well. I told Dr. Cheney about this when I saw him some years ago--after he asked. I don't know if he believes there was/is a connection between immunizations and this illness. I do wonder if it could have been a contributing factor. Thanks for asking! Guest guest
Sue, When I went into the service they gave us a bunck of immunizations. I started getting some reactions with my left eye going out. Then when I hit my first duty station I started having all the CFS Symp. Ginny " Sharon M. Guest guest
In late 1995 I had my first, last and only flu shot. I was horribly sick within 48 hours, and that was the beginning of CFIDS for me! Kathy > > > > Hi, my name is Sue and I'm 45 years old. I'm new here; but now to CFS > > or Fibromyalgia. Guest guest
My CFS was also gradual, but in 1996/1997 I got very sick. So sick that my brothers had to take care of me physically. I never quite recovered and from then on I slowly started getting worse. I never did get vaccinated right before though. My doctor thinks that the only reason I am not flat on my back with this is because I also have ADHD which is kinda a weird combo, but he said I should count it as a blessing if it keeps me from getting to the point where I can't get out of bed. Guest guest
I had a Hepetitis B immunisation on 22.8.05, developed flu like symptoms a few days later and it progressively worse. I have now been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I don't think it was a coincidence but my Rheumatologist does. Beth > > My CFS was also gradual, but in 1996/1997 I got very sick.
