We thank the M.E./CFS Support Groups and our members who emailed, wrote or called their Member of Parliament at our request, to raise awareness of the importance of this Clinic to the M.E./CFS population in Ontario. Over the last two years, this has taken The Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association of Ontario and The Environmental Hypersensitivity Society of Ontario copious amounts of hours of advocacy, meetings with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and with Hospital Administration and numerous correspondence to bring this to fruition. We wish to thank the following for their efforts of support: Margaret Parlor, The Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association of Ontario and the National ME-FM Action Network Yvon Helen Hemsol, The Environmental Hypersensitivity Association of Ontario Balmer, RAINET Diane Dawber, Health Pursuits Reading/Study Groups Nolan-Leeming, Allergy and Environmental Health Association of Canada, Ottawa Branch The Clinic provides a comprehensive initial assessment for patients with M.E./CFS, FM and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and one follow-up appointment. The physicians at the Environmental Health Clinic write an extensive letter, which includes a treatment plan, back to the patients? family doctor. The waiting time for an initial appointment is presently 6-8 months. We are hopeful that Hospital Administration will expand the services at the Clinic in the future and reduce the waiting time?our Association will continue to advocate for this? and we will be closely watching. The Environmental Health Clinic 76 Grenville Street, Toronto, ON M5S 1B2 Tel: Toll-free: 1- Fax: A referral letter is required from your family doctor. Dr. Lynn Marshall, Medical Director, in addition to her normal hours of work, on our behalf, has volunteered hours and hours to educate multiple Government Institutions, Universities, writing articles, etc. about our illnesses. We owe her a great deal of gratitude for her tireless effort. The Clinic is criticall in that it provides Fellowship programs to post grad physicians who want to learn about M.E./CFS, FM and MCS and is involved in Research with the University of Toronto.
