Antibiotics kill off all the bacteria in your body, both good and bad. Probiotics tries to replace the good (friendly) bacteria (because we really need that - it helps our bowels work correctly and fights off yeast (candida) infections. You've probably been told to follow up your antibiotics with yogurt because yogurt has good bacteria. It takes a more concerted effort though to get your good bacteria restored. Problem is that a lot of the good bacteria we take is lost in the stomach acids and so you need to buy a bottle of acidophilus with bifidus (vitaminshoppe.com makes a chewable that is room temperature stable. I also take L. Reuteri afterwards because that is very helpful to a healthy colon enviroment. I prefer to buy brands that claim they are room temperature stable because I find it difficult to believe that the brands that require refrigeration were actually kept cold during every step of the shipping process. Natures sunrise makes an L. Reuteri

that doesn't require refrigeration.Barbara B wrote: Hi What exactly are probiotics? Thx Barb. Hi ,Welcome! Sorry to hear about the recent events. I'm sure all the changesare a bit disappointing to you. Not the way you planned to spend ChristmasI'm sure. I

spent Thanksgiving the same way.Just wanted to say hi and that I'm glad you're here with us. I believe everything happens according to his plan and since you are religious I suspect you agree. Who knows why this happened. Perhaps you were simply meant to get in touch with some of the people here. Years ago my life changed rapidly after a bad outcome to a surgery. It put me in touch with quite other people in a similiar circumstance. My first comment was, okay, whoever I'm supposed to meet, please contact me now (cause I'd like to get better and move on) Make sure you that remember to follow those

antibiotics up with some probiotics (can be purchased at any health food store) Wishing you improved health for the new year!Janet __________________________________________________
