Moderating messages--to the entire group

Before I log off to get ready to run my van route for church, I thought about the request of a "member" to completely moderate all messages. If that were done and none of the moderators happened to be online at each moment messages came through, no messages would go to the group. I cannot and will not sit at this thing 24/7. I have a life off line and so do the other moderators. So, I say let's all deal with it, use the delete button more for spam, and get along. This crap is ridiculous with the sniping and junk. I've seen quite enough for one day. I almost wish I still felt bad enough not to lon on at all. Now, I have to log off to tend my granddaughter and get ready for church. Have a nice night, be safe, don't celebrate too much, and HAPPY NEW YEAR. , Co-ModeratorGod bless you! __________________________________________________

I really try not to reply to any of this nonsense but I did want to take an opportunity to thank you and all the others who have volunteered their time to help with this group. You are doing something you don't have to in order to help others and it is very appreciated.

Even though I may not post often this group is very helpful in that I read every email so I can learn all I can to help myself and my 2 kids who have asthma. I wholeheartedly agree that you or any other mod should not have to sit amd babysit this group of grown people. If I have an urgent problem I want to be able to post and have it go through right away and I want others to have the ability to answer me.

The spam and trolls do not bother me. I know how to delete, it takes one second. What does bother me is when everybody thinks they have to respond and put their 2 cents in. It serves no purpose whatsoever. Have any of you ever heard of the saying "don't feed the trolls"? These people enjoy seeing their stupidity get a rise out of everyone and they keep doing it over and over and over. They are going to get on the list and they will continue to post. IGNORE THEM!! If you get a crank phone call you don't sit around conversing with them...you hang up. If someone posts spam or trolls delete it and move on. Honestly if I had a email group I'd put anyone who responded to a troll on moderated status immediately. I've seen this dynamic on plenty of groups and message boards in all the years I have been on the net and it does not die down or stop until everyone finally gets that you do not respond. And yes I realize the little trolls are reading this too and think they can just bombard us with their garbage and they all get a good laugh out if it. But you all have the last laugh when you don't respond and leave them hopping up and down like the little trolls they are.

So make this your mantra for the new year: DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!!!!

And have a Happy New Year everybody and stay safe and breathe well!!

Rhonda~

I also want to express my thank yous to our new moderators. Please,

enough with the name calling! If you don't like this being a public

group - try starting your own group! Find out how much work it is. I

enjoy reading this site, I have learned a lot about my disease and how

to manage it. An occassional spam does not bother me in the least.

Big deal! Thank you for all your help in volunteering for a generally

thankless job! Happy New Year all and let's hope for great health in

2007 for us all.

Les

> Just want to say that I am not irritated by any spam that might

come in. I do have all of my emails set to filter spam, they handle

that 99 percent well, even with groups, and I can always use the

delete button for anything I don't want.

Thanks Rhonda, I like that idea. From now on I make it a point to totally ignore the trolls and delete the spam. , Co-Moderator Family wrote: I really try not to reply to any of this nonsense but I did want to take an opportunity to thank you and all the others who have volunteered their time to help with this group.
