Guest guest
They gave me the methacholine challenge at National Jewish so yes I know. And I shook like the dickens from the Albuterol afterward and the therapist mentioned this to the doctor despite the fact that they only gave me a half dose. Do you usually take Albuterol at all???shefy7 wrote: Hi all...I got in for a challenge test today...however they didn'tgive me anything to induce asthma. I'm not too familiar with thevolumes and flows and numbers..but she said one of them is at 73% andshould be above 80%. So they gave me the dam albuterol...Now here'sthe weird thing. I had a reaction to it I never had. I coughed when Iinhaled the first time and kept coughing for a few more breaths...I had to take 25 breaths of it and I did, my heart rate got around125 and I couldn't feel it real hard in my chest. I told them I neverhad this reaction and they said it's "undiluted" albuterol...Anyoneknow about this? Very weird...Anyways...test didn't show much improvement...in fact I felt worse...At least now they've ruled out asthma... I really think I have candidanow...Hope all are wellshefy
Guest guest
I was taking it regularly (~2 months) when the idiots "misdiagnosed" me with asthma. i didn't have the reactions then that i had now...they said it was bc today they gave me "undiluted" albuterol...i guess it's stronger? it didn't do crap then and it didn't go crap now. LOL I know...I don't care about the shaking at all...I think it's funny...the heart beating hard and fast is what irritates me...Leigh McCall-Alton wrote: They gave me the methacholine challenge at National Jewish so yes I know. Guest guest
It doesn't matter what your doctor thinks. Look it up--my doctors told me it is highly addictive. It is for short term use only. Getting off of it can be a nightmare. Doctors give it to patients to keep them quiet.Granada Family wrote: my doctor must not think so cause i have a prescription for it to take 1mg X3 a day, prn, guess they would rather that then narcotics melissa and ativan is so addictive
Guest guest
ativan is the worst drug ever. look at the side effects and the withdrawal symptoms. it's hilarious...it causes what it's suppose to STOP. i took it not even for a week (4 months ago when my breathing problem started) and i felt withdrawal symptoms! it took me like 3 days to get off it so freakin slowly... my mom is addicted to it...she takes it when she can't sleep or when she feels anxious. it helps a lot by turning you into a zombie..but it's not a good long term drug... shefyLeigh McCall-Alton wrote: It doesn't matter what your doctor thinks. Guest guest
Wow, thanks, that's just what I need to know. I've had problems with doctors who insist what I need is albuterol even when I point out that it gives me the shakes, makes my heart pound and race, and brings my asthma right back, worse than ever, about an hour later. They usually try to convince me I'm not inhaling it properly and am therefore not getting the full benefit!?!?! It should be easier to demand something else if I know what to ask for. > > > > straight albuteral will do that but even if it was dilutated if > they would do the whole amount, you would still get the same > reactions, i think. > > > > the shaking is your nerves being raw. > > i get that just being wired on 60mg of prednisone and don't sleep > for 40+ hours. add albuteral nebs to it, i am a nervous wreck. i > have to take ativan to calm down. > > > > i never did understand why they check your vitals after a neb > treatment,?? > > maybe someone else can answer that one. > > > > > > > > I was taking it regularly (~2 months) when the > idiots " misdiagnosed " me with asthma. i didn't have the reactions > then that i had now...they said it was bc today they gave > me " undiluted " albuterol...i guess it's stronger? it didn't do crap > then and it didn't go crap now.
