Just because someone slaps a label 'natural' on something doesn't mean it's better than a synthetic medication. Or are you still at the eating bread mold level instead of taking a multi-level antibiotic for double pneumonia? It was modern tests that diagnosed the fungal infection in my lungs, not some herbal treatment. How soon you have forgotten polio, once the terror of the planet. Stopped by Modern Medicine, not witch doctors. Measles used to kill one out of five hundred infected. Many of us with asthma would have been dead if not for modern medicines. I know I would have been, since I've been hospitalized quite a few times with pneumonia cured only by IV antibiotics. I would have lost a leg due to a puncture wound that carried in a staph infection (a NATURALLY occurring germ that lives on the skin) if not for IV antibiotics and surgical intervention in the knee joint. Preach the 'one true way'. BTW, our 'true' guy seems to have disappeared and never has given us any info on his supposed training or accreditation or any info on what authority he has. Go ahead, keep with your herbal treatments. And those of the rest of us will use whatever modern medicine has given us. If you wish to live in the 10th century, why don't you give up electricity, modern heating, that auto you depend so much on, remove all synthetic materials from your life? You should be able to find a nice drafty cave somewhere to live in like our ancesters did. Do you really think none of us have tried other methods? I tried herbal remedies when I first was diagnosed with adult on-set asthma. I ended up in the ER, very ill. Yes, there are things to be learned from herbal remedies. Scientists and botanists are constantly studying the ancient medicines and using them to produce consistent derivitives that work. But just to say something is 'natural' and that makes it much better is total and complete bullshit. If you believe that, I've got some seeds from this certain very pretty plant that grows around here. You can have all you wish to eat. It's completely natural. One more thing. There are more than one of us on this group named Sue. But we seem to be in agreement. And I'm Out of Here. There is a monitored asthma group, invitation only. No spammers, thank Hera. Sue Date: Sun, 19 Mar 2006 19:45:48 -0000From: "usanamamamiabella" Subject: Re: Checking my walletI have read a number of posts here in disbelief. I guess I've been too far removed from "mainstream" people for too long. I'm thinking if your asthma "treatment" were working, you would not be a member of a group were you could get questions answered, hear different opinions, and learn of other options. If you are content taking prescription medicine with various side effects for the rest of your life, then good for you. But there ARE other options out there if you can get out of your mind that only doctors with accreditations are able to help people be well. Doctors are trained to deal with sick people. They are not trained to keep us well. There is a difference. It's amazing that we will jump the minute a doctor writes a prescription, but when we hear of something natural, we won't even try it. Even worse, we down talk it before we even know what we're talking about. Why aren't we checking our wallets before we walk into the doctor's office? If you all realized how little doctors really knew about the medicines they are giving you, you would run away terrified. NEVER do something just because someone with a diploma tells you to. Do your own research, whether it's a prescription drug or natural remedy. And realize that there is a war going on right now between the pharmaceutical industry and the supplement industry, and when you can't find the truth behind all the mudslinging and misleading by the media, follow your instinct and do what feels right for your situation. If you have no idea what I am talking about, a good book to read is Death by Prescription, by Dr. Ray Strand. Yes, he is a medical doctor, with accreditation.EvieCrawling back to my corner...>> > JMHO, but if you are billing yourself as True Option Health, you are> implying OTHER options are NOT true. Guest guest
Funny how the owners of Asthma2 complain endlessly about the spammers here, then turn around and spam themselves to get people to join their list! Just an observation. Re: OUT OF HERE Hello! I am interested in asthma2. Thanks Felecia
Guest guest
You know I hate spam as much as the next person..but being just rude to everyone is uncalled for. Everyone is here to learn about asthma and what we can do to have a better life living with it. Life is to short to keep trying to pick a fuss with someone all the time. Just being rude about it is uncalled for in the public viewing also. I hope you can find what makes you happy. Because I am truely sick of coming and everyday instead of leaning something helpful having to weed through the garbage on top of dealing with the spam.SueNY wrote: Funny how the owners of Asthma2 complain endlessly about the spammers here, then turn around and spam themselves to get people to join their list! Guest guest
I wasnt trying to be nasty, just letting SUEny know that we shouldnt have to listen to her complain about everything she reads here, pick your battles, and take it with a grain of salt if you dont believe in it, or choose not to be in this group...... it sounds like she has gone away. So maybe the nastiness can now be over with! Im certainly tired of it myself. Have a great weekend. Bill and Canter wrote: Oh Lord now we have two nasty people.
