knee was much better this morning, can walk. i attribute to 3 things:

1. time going by (most of my flares last 24-36 hours)

2. taking 5mg prednisone last night, instead of 2.5mg (I take 5mg every morning

as it is)

3. BenGay patches - my husband reminded me that I bought some for him when his

back

was hurting and he put one on my knee last night

----my husband called the pharmacy last night too and they said NO CORTISONE

SHOTS

for pregnant women!!! I started crying hysterically after hearing that because

it was going

to mean NO RELIEF for me. I had decided I would go get one this morning if

things weren't

better, but that put a stop to that. he forgot to ask about prednisone shots so

I had that

in the back of my mind as a possibility.

I'm hoping this is a very temporary flare, and that it's perhaps related to me

being

pregnant and having huge rises in hormones. maybe in a week or so i'll even go

into

remission. trying to maintain my optimism as much as possible. am so grateful

to be

able to walk this morning!!! even if it's just trudging and looks nutty. left

wrist is killing

me, but nothing in comparision to the knee pain of the last day and a half. I'm

not a

religious person, but was thinking last night that maybe this is all happening

to me to

increase my empathy for others. not that i didn't have any before, but this has

taken it to

a whole new level. anyway, love this group and wish all happy new year with as

little pain

as possible.

i am glad you are able to walk. Maybe 5 mg at night would help... a heating

pad kept close or those patches is a good idea. are they expensive? Another

thing that may help is aspercreme. its like ben gay without the smell. just an

idea hugs

,

Sorry your flaring during this pregnancy. Is this your first baby? I

have heard that pregnancy puts the RA in remission. So, hopefully

the flare will go away soon. I will keep you in my prayers, Tawny
