Guest guest
As I said, I had mono when I was 28. I just turned 49. Recently, there was a mono outbreak here and I got tested. They said not only did I not have mono (had symptoms, as usual) but my body didn't show that I'd EVER had mono!! What's up with that, I wonder?? Guest guest
Hi, yes, that is very unusual, most people show that in their system at some level...I would ask the Doc about that. I wonder if your body never made the correct anti bodies to fight it, and does that mean you can still get it? HHmmmm... Jeanette French Re: Mono As I said, I had mono when I was 28. Guest guest
Weird isn't it. Mine did the same with CMV virus-had it for years and years and now reckons I have never had it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My doctor thinks they have changed the testing procedures. Nerida van Rooyen wrote: As I said, I had mono when I was 28. I just turned 49. Recently, there was a mono outbreak here and I got tested. Guest guest
Hi Nerida!! Your Dr may be correct- alot of the lab testing procedures have changed- including C-Reactive Protein. Still waiting for the new Lyme tests to be out- they're in the making! Wanda nerida brown wrote: Weird isn't it. Guest guest
Hi Ina, that makes 12, What does the rash with Lyme disease look like, is it the target looking rash? Thanks Jeanette French
Guest guest
Hi- They lowered the normal # so those whose Drs may say that you're " normal " may not be true. It is in the fine print at the end of the lab report and some Drs don't even notice it! Wanda Jeanette French wrote: Hi Nerida: I just recently had the test for C-reactive protein. How has the new test changed from the old, do you know? Thanks Jeanette French
Guest guest
I am sorry the doctor never elaborated but she kept ringing them up complaining about the changes. Over here they do not like a doctor doing a lot of blood tests-big strain on the free system over here. Nerida Jeanette French wrote: Hi Nerida: I just recently had the test for C-reactive protein. Guest guest
Hi Nerida, yes, I was with an HMO-Kaiser, and they were very strict about doing any testing also. Didn't want to do anything that would cost them money. Where are you at? Jeanette French Re: Mono I am sorry the doctor never elaborated but she kept ringing them up complaining about the changes. Guest guest
Hi Nerida, yes, that makes 14 of us so far. I guess most of us have had it, but it seems like we had more noticeable symptoms, enough to seek medical care. I know I did. Guest guest
I passed out and was hospitalized for 6 weeks. I didn't realize I was sick; I was very tired etc but I had had a baby a couple months before whom was seriously ill, plus also had recently permenately separated from my husband. So being depressed and tired didn't seem unusual under those circumstances. But passing out for no reason got my and everyone elses attention. Guest guest
Hi, Yes well mine started with a bout of pneumonia after my daughter was born. Though when my son had a really bad year with his asthma (I got the house fumigated for cockroaches) he was hospitalised 39 times in 9 months. My EBV virus stayed in the acute stage for over a year (they say it is not possible but the blood tests showed it was true) in the end they put me in hospital for 6 weeks and gave me Vit C drips three times a week and it finally went out of acute but the health never got better. sigh Nerida Jeanette French wrote: Hi Nerida, yes, that makes 14 of us so far. Guest guest
Hi Sorry I took so long to reply. Seemed to be swamped with emails at the moment and not feeling up to keeping up with them. I am in Brisbane Australia-sunny hot, humid Brisbane lol. Nerida Jeanette French wrote: Hi Nerida, yes, I was with an HMO-Kaiser, and they were very strict about doing any testing also. Guest guest
Wow,Nerida: Your poor son, my nephew has Asthma bad to, it is so hard when they are so little and they have to get IV's and stuff, heartbreaking. When you were in the Hospital, did they give you anything else besides the Vit C, it must be really good for the immune system...yeah, I would say you had it pretty bad...Gosh...
