Guest guest
Hi Jane! That's right! When we get tired our bodies are telling us something whether you have CFS or not! Rest is the key to building up a weaked immune system also. But control freaks? I doubt it! I definitely am not one of those but I know a few and I know they have some kind of emotional problem. Guest guest
hi Lynn, Not been a good week, total loss really. Got nothing done, so tired much pain, so maybe next week will be better. Thanks, Jeanette Re: CFS & Type A Personalities > Hi Jeanette! I had off from work today but I had lots > to do. I'm hoping I'm off Sunday so I could stay in > bed and rest all day. Guest guest
I would like to give my tuppence worth here. I have actually taken comfort in the idea that it's type A personalities that develop this illness. It was a way of saying, it's not cos I'm lazy (which I'm not), nor because I'm fat (which I was and am), nor because I'm not fit (I could teach a 4 hour dance workshop, though it left me drained) - it's because I've pushed myself too hard. It almost felt like a vindication. I could blame the current culture that says we have to do so much all the time. I've no idea if the type A personality idea is true or not, I hadn't heard before now that it was part of the psychological falsehoods that have been debunked. It's interesting to hear that. I'm disappointed that now I can't use it anymore to make others not judge me! Alison God bless Give food to the hungry every day with a simple click, at no cost to you. Guest guest
Hi Kate, No, no, I believe it effects each person it effects equally. But if you were a person who was contended watching TV in the evening, and that was about it, as compared to another who danced, and ice skated etc..in their evening, it would seem a harder blow to the more active one,. That is all I was saying. After all the TV watcher won;to do much altering if their life style, and they are comfortable with it,. However anyone who gets this will have to make some alterations in life style, just some more that others. We are all effected by the symptoms, and hard ships it brings on us. Take care, Jeanette
Guest guest
Hi : well, it is hard to say since no one seems to know what causes it, but can't over look anything. I have had much stress in my life, most of us do at sometime or other. Maybe some bodies do better at dealing with it, and not going into over drive, Jeanette Re: CFS & Type A Personalities Can we agree that excessive stress is a possible cause? Guest guest
Hi Kate: I never said anyone had more worth than another, I believe I was trying to say it alters some lives more than others. Please do not be offended as none was meant. I have this illness, and I would never think I was better then anyone else, in fact I think I am worse then others as far as who I am. Having to alter a life style in any way means nothing about ones character. We are all Gods people and we are all equal. I am sorry you misunderstood me. Guest guest
Hi Jeanette! I rested today but either my thyroid nodules are acting up or it also could be the lymph nodes under there near the thyroid. I'm seeing my alternative doctor on Wednesday. He lowed my thyroid medication and said he may have to check my adrenals and put me on another medication. I'll let you know what's happening. I get these crawling sensations all the time in my legs. It's werid. I know some CFS patients get this. Have you ever had this problem. I guess it's just one of those crazy symptoms we come up with! LOL This swelling in my neck has to go. When that happens all my other symptoms flare up including the crawling in the legs. Take Care - Keep in touch! Lynn
Guest guest
You got something there Alison! It's not cause we are lazy. It's because we are really sick. I'm really frustrated because one year from this July I'd like to take a trip to LA and I hope I'm well enough to do it. I would love to sell Avon or something like that as a second job (I only can work part-time) but I'm too pooped to do it. It's so frustrating. Guest guest
Hi ! I honestly feel that excessive stress is only a part of it. When I was just a kid I didn't feel right and I'm talkin around 2 or 3 years old. I had two eye operations and they thought I had polio and out grew it. So something is weird here. I think stress is one of the major factors but a lot more research needs to be done on this illness. Guest guest
Hey there Lynn, yes, I will want to hear what the Doctor said. I haven't had any thyroid problems, at least none that I know of yet. I get that crawly feeling sometimes, but not always. My skin is dry and always kinda itchy anyway. But I know what you mean, sometimes I think a bug is on me and nothing was there. Does the swelling interfere with swallowing, that would be annoying if it does. Good Luck at the Doctors. Jeanette
Guest guest
Hi Lynn: I sell Avon on the side, and at times I can't even make the deliveries. It is very frustrating. Even with Avon, you can't always know when someone will call you, or want an order delivered. It is hard to do. I have considered giving it up cause I don't do very well with it, plus I am in a small town. When I was better, before I got sick I did much better with it. It will most likely not be long before I stop doing it. I wish there was something we could do. take care, Jeanette

Guest guest
I forgot to mention pollution as a suspected cause. Of course sensitivity to pollution is also stress. The Canary and Chronic Fatigue by Majid Ali, M. D. discusses this issue. Let me tell you something my doctor here told me that I always try to remember. " Not every symptom you have is from CFS. Sometimes they are separate and not connected at all. " Your childhood ailments may or may not be connected. They may be something else.
