Dear all,

1. I have been unanimously requested to continue as General Secretary &

Webmaster to the Jabalpur Divisional Ophthalmic Society for a further period

of 2 years. On my request the whole team of office bearers to the society

will now continue...

President: Prof. Dr. Mrs. Meeta Shrivastava (Professor and Head of the dept.

of Ophthalmology, NSCB-Medical college and Hospital)

Secretary: Myself

Jt. Sec.: Dr. Brijesh Choudhary

Treasurer: Dr. Pal Chhabra

2. I have been unanimously nominated the Organizing Secretary for the MP

State Ophthalmic Conference (Annual) to be held in Jabalpur - October 13, 14

& 15, 2006 (I am a bit apprehensive about this one though).

3. Best Speaker Awards, Jabalpur Divisional Ophthalmic Society - Assessment

Year 2004-05:

First: Dr Ravin N Das (HS of 97%, Average of 87.33%)

Second: Dr Indu Pandey (HS of 94% Average of 85%)

Third: Dr Rahul Shukla (HS of 85% Average of 82.5%) (Additional

Professor Ophthalmology NSCB-MC & MH)

Dear Shyam,

As per your observation regarding the Konkani's in my life :-)

The Kamats are actually my maternal cousin's husband & fly. The Bailur is my

maternal cousin's friend. The Prabhu is my brother-in-law's son!

My mother, though a Maratha Dalvi, they are from the Konkan belt too. My

childhood friends (Deanne, , ) who were converted Christians

(Goan) too were Konkanis (and could speak Konkani very well - Goan Konkani)

and would repeatedly remind everyone they were " bhatkars " .
