Guest guest
I received this in a newsletter from a website for clay called Natures Body Beautiful. They have recently had to remove most of their info about their products & how to use them, at the request of the FDA. Blessings Shan PS The info at the site for this act is worth looking at. More info. Now, here’s the call to action… We would like to direct your attention to a bill introduced into the US House of Representatives by Representative Ron (TX) on November 10, 2005. It is HR4282 – the Health Freedom Protection Act. In his introductory remarks, Rep. stated, " The American people have made it clear they do not want the federal government to interfere with their access to dietary supplements, yet the FDA and the FTC continue to engage in heavy-handed attempts to restrict such access. " Rep. went on to tell Congress, “This legislation also addresses the FTC’ s violations of the First Amendment.  Under traditional First Amendment jurisprudence, the federal government bears the burden of proving an advertising statement false before censoring that statement.  However, the FTC has reversed the standard in the case of dietary supplements by requiring supplement manufacturers to satisfy an unobtainable standard of proof that their statement is true.  The FTC’s standards are blocking innovation in the marketplace.†Tim Bolen, a Health Freedom Advocate, has created a website to support the passage of this bill. The website is: www.HR4282.org.  As Mr. Bolen states in his opinion article, “The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) was originally designed to serve the needs of the American public. Of course, these days, it does no such thing – it is owned, outright, by “Big Pharma,†the very industry it is supposed to regulate.†As Mr. Bolen says, “This will be a huge battle with " Big-Pharma. "  It will be the first of many conflicts to dislodge " Big Pharma's " hold on North American health care - and their obvious intent to destroy the US economy. America needs to be " healthy " not " medicated. " The bill, the " Health Freedom Protection Act, HR 4282 " , is co-sponored by Congressmen Ron (TX), DeFazio (OR), Dan Burton (IN), Walter (NC), Rob Bishop (UT), J. Duncan (TN), Roscoe Bartlett (MD), Jeff (FL), Butch Otter (ID) and Tom Tancredo (CO). On his website, www.HR4282.org, Mr. Bolen explains the Health Freedom Protection Act bill and what it will accomplish if passed. We encourage everyone to visit the website, and learn about it for themselves. If you feel so inclined, please contact your Congressional representatives and let them know you support this bill. It’s time we stood up for our rights, people!
