I have lost only 15 pounds, but that has helped lots. I'm working on losing more because I'm also diabetic. Guest guest Posted November 11, 2005 Report Share Posted November 11, 2005 i myself know that weight gain for me has set my asthma and sleep apnea off. i have gained weight on the prednisone i am on and gained 15 pounds .soon as my pneumonia is better i plan on working out and get rid of the extra pounds that i know is a factor in my breathing problems:(..i do wake up alot more in middle of the night cause my sleep apnea, i wake up gasping and thats scary itself.i have 2 more weeks of that prednisone. take care and breathe easy!Bill and Canter wrote: I can say from experience myself that too much weight can make breathing harder. What I was trying to ask....Do you find that fat or muscle is the problems for you as far as weight gain? I know this nurse told me muscle weight more than fat....That was my problem there also....I gain too much weight too fast also.....It could be some of everything.. People with lots of belly fat tend to have more health problems, like diabetes, and heart related problems. It can also make breathing harder when you sit because your belly presses up under the ribs and diapragm so it's harder to inhale. Then I developed asthma when I was little. I did ok until I started smoking as a teen and it got steadily worse over the years. I no longer smoke, and can't stand it around me. Don't worry about how mad people get when you ask them not to smoke around you. Peoples dont care about others just themself........You have to put yourself number one.. This guy who wnated to date me...I told I am not looking for a dam man...This is my time for me...I love it every mins of it...I am taking care me now....Three months past, He ask me out again.....I told him hell no...It dont take three months to take care yourself...I told him I take as much time as I want to...It take all my life to care for myself.......He left me alone since thenBill and Canter wrote: Keep any paperwork you have and only give doctors copies.
