Guest guest
Hello Toni, Do you live around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area? I live 45 miles from Dallas. You're right about the rain. Seems I read that the Farmer's Almanac predicted we'd have a dry year. Thank you and I am hoping my son does well with his shoulder surgery too. In 1977 I was Dx'd with Rheumatism then about 4 or 5 years ago RA. I am wondering if I may have Ankylosing Spondolosis because I can't straighten up my back. I feel like I need a good back brace because the lower back is where the worst pain is. I have looked on the internet for a brace but they all say they are the best and you never know what you're getting. Guest guest
I live half way between Dallas and Shreveport, and I'm behind on water almost 2 feet. The 'official' amount is 20+ " . Whatever the total is, it's bad for fires around the state. Just a mile north of me, a pasture burned, jumped the road, and almost took out a big new house! It's really bad and there's no relief in sight. I have my well and community water ready if a fire gets too close to me. I'll fight it to the last drop, but hope I don't have to. Guest guest
Joyce, I am two hours south of you on 35. I am near Ft. Hood out in the boonies. I do come to Dallas on occasion to see my bariatric surgeon..and I go to Ft. Worth to see family as well. You could be right. What does your rheummy say about your back? Just a FYI a new rheummy has moved into your area...His name is Patel...he came from my area...and he was not a very good doc..at least to me. Toni > > > > Hello, > > My name is Joyce. Guest guest
Dennis, I pray that you won't need that well and we will get some rain soon. We are behind like 15 inches. They are saying water your lawn and keep it moist...well there is no way I jut paid a $92 water bill cause the cost of water has gone up here. There is no way I am wasting water on the ground when Ihave a family. Its a no win situation with the lack of rain. Toni > > > > Hello, > > My name is Joyce. Guest guest
Dennis I heard on the news a couple of days ago that most of Texas has a fire zone ban. One of my DIL's live near Shreveport and it's dry there too. So far there hasn't been any fires near my house. Guest guest
Oh you live in Bell County. My late husband was born in a little community called Sharp and went to school in Killeen many moons ago. His grandparents owned a farm across Lampasas River from Sharp. I liked it down there but haven't been back since about 1992. I haven't been to a rheummy as I don't do that Dallas traffic. I am going to a DO that has an office less than a mile from my house. He is the one that gave me a series of shots in my left knee last April. He told me the shots would probably last for about six months but so far it's been eight. I am pretty sure I'll be getting more shots soon as my knee is acting up again. I have seen the name Dr. Patel before. Possibly through the Arthritis Org. when I was looking for a rheummy. Guest guest
Folks around here that start fires are now being ticketed. In the past, 'accidental' fires were passed over as 'not knowing better'. One man was arrested after burning a home and 12 cats west of here. There will be a total ban on fireworks that starts on Jan 3!!! That makes a lot of sense to me. And most counties around me have made them illegal already. It'll be interesting to see what's done. For some reason, all the rain goes above the Red River and south of us from Lufkin to Houston. Maps I've seen show drought or dry weather for the southern 1/3 of the U.S. That's worse than the hurricanes because the damage is spread out and total number of the affected aren't easy to see. In a way, I'm not complaining because the fronts coming through aren't very strong and I don't hurt from them as much. I guess that's one of the " darned if you do and darned if you don't " things. Guest guest
The Dallas 5 or 6pm news today (I'm not sure which) said if a person is caught setting a fire that they could be fined up to $2,000.....Joyce [ ] Re: A newby Hello Joyce and welcome to the group, I am also in Texas...yes I heard the news we are WAY behind on rain. Guest guest
That is so cool. Well you would not recognize this area now. It has around 105k people live here plus the military with 60k in troops and when you add there families that is another 100k plus. Its a super fast growing area. Yes Dr.Patel is in Dallas. He is now a part of a large rheumatology practice. Here is his address: Physician Contact Information Name: Himanshu Patel Specialty: Rheumatologist Address: Arthritis Centers of Texas 712 N. Washington Ste 300 Dallas, TX 75246 Country: US Phone: 214.823.6503 I wish I could find a good internal med doc here to go too..cause with the changes in my health insurance it would work better financially. I am still looking for a doctor. Toni > > > > > > Hello, > > > My name is Joyce.
