Guest guest
Hi all, I forget who started the thread on canes...... but go for it. Before I was dx'ed with the RA (and before my spine surgery) I had steroid induced myopathy.... whole right side was so weak I couldn't stand. I was in a wheelchair for 6 months, and in skilled nursing care for 3 of those months. I graduated to a quad cane, then a regular cane. There are still days I need to use the cane, and I do. The only problem I have now is, because my hands are so affected, I tend to drop the cane alot because I can't hold on to it. Do I hate using it? Yes. But, I can do so much more with just that little bit more confidence it gives me. And, I was 32 when I started using one. ps. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and /or whatever holiday you may be celebrating at this time of year. --------------------------------- for Good - Make a difference this year.
