Guest guest
I jumped in with a post with a very brief introduction and I apologize. I'm Rose, live in MN. RA dx about 5 years ago. I'm on 15 mg/MTX, mobic, folic acid and leuvcour. So far, Rhummy says my RA is 'quiet'. Though I've had to have laser surgery for a locking thumb in my left hand (I am left handed) and now my right hand gives me fit. Sent to PT and had a hand braces specially fit for both hands. And I " ve had to give up knitting, which was very sad for me. Have OA in knees and hands also. And spine. I'm not working. Not retired, but dh is a cardiac patient with COPD. He is on oxygen 24/7. There is a lot he can do, but more now he cant do, so I'm his caretaker. He is also a lukemia survior, and knows about pain and side effects from chemo, so he is great when I'm having side effects from MTX, or other problems. Also, born without my last vertebrae. Had a spinal fusion when I was 15, and it is now loose. Will need it redone, but so far, I can control that pain and I'm not ready ,with dh's problems, to take at least a year to concentrate on my healing. Married, 3 children, spread throughout the country, 5 grandchildren. Kids are knowledable and caring about my condition, because they learned early as kids that there were certain things I couldn't do (like shovel snow). Grandkids learned early to crawl into my lap to held, since I can't lift and carry more than 14 lbs. That's my life, to date. Thank you for letting me be here.
