Guest guest
I get so excited when I see an increase in the number of people sending posts lately. Not that being a member will increase your wealth, fulfill your lovelife, or provide eternal bliss. Quite the opposite is true. We pay our dues for belonging to this site, yet, not as dearly as do those we love. I am simply encouraged that the message is getting out, people are becoming more informed and demanding answers to the puzzling nature of this disease which can't be addressed within the context of AD, PD, or general categories. Much of the credit can be given to those who seek to differentiate LBD from other dementias and those who began the LBD org site and this e-group. Their dedication and agape love I believe is in the beginning stages of bearing fruit. We will be recognized.....we will be heard! I welcome back. Sounds like you are taking the world on your shoulders. Please take care of you too. My future is told on these pages. Everyone's story is important to me. I only have about 10,000 messages to catch up on everyone. So glad that you also found this site, Anita and Elaine. Remember, things can change for the better even after the most insane episodes with LBD. They did for my mother (79 and in early to mid-early stage) and in that I will always find hope. When my faith is weak, there are many others that will carry me in their's. I know that this is true. There bits of information out there on LBD. Learn as much as you can. There are other issues of course; NH, power of attorney (POA), medical directives, meds, mobility and on and on and on. One thing I encourage you to explore is taking care of the caregiver. I have run the gamut of emotions. There are probable familial connections of depression. The grief process takes its toll all throughout this disease as well as with its passing. This group is the greatest but there is nothing which replaces real human contact. I am in the process of finding a related support group in my area for caregivers. I encourage others to do the same. This is a tough one to go alone. Reaching out has been my most difficult task. It does get easier. At times it will seem very serious and solemn on this site. Don't worry. An unexpected wit will pop up in a post and soon, the animals are out of their cages. We do let loose, too. Humor is too healthy to give up. Stick around. This place tends to grow on you.
