<<You say that when your kids get congested, you

switch food and they

improve...? are you talking about food allergies?

~kari>>

Hi Kari,

No, actually what I was referring to was the fact that

as our diet elevates and improves, when we deviate

from eating the way we're supposed to, our body sends

us more obvious signs of that fact. Ideally, our diet

should consist of mostly fresh fruits and vegetables

and fresh water. Grains, legumes, etc. are important

also, but not in as high quantities. So what I was

saying is that when we upset that balance, eating lots

of starchy foods (pasta, tofu, soy milk, breads,

crackers, wheat, etc.) without salads or greens or

fruits. And when we aren't drinking enough water, we

end up with cold symptoms. Does that make more sense?

Peace & Blessings,

Yahmeema

Since I'm pretty new to this too, I thought I'd answer. You will be

referred to the archives to read up on chelation. From what I get so far,

chelation is the process by which you eliminate mercury and other toxcins

from the body with chelator agents. Many times children that have been

mercury poisoned do present with food allergies. I believe that the vaccines

and the mercury contained in the vaccines have compromised the child's

digestive system, therefore they cannot digest a lot of foods properly.

There is another site, GFCFKids that can help you out more

with that.

This is just a very simple explanation. I would imagine that kids

could have allergies without being autistic or mercury poisoned.

I don't know a lot about celiac spur other than the fact that those

people are highly allergic to wheat.

thanx for the info! i am in the process of trying to get tests done

for celiac and mercury. my daughter has anaphylaxis when exposed to

dairy and egg products, even touching her with allergen can cause

reaction. my son is highly sensitive to noise and touch (covers his

ears, cries, makes terrified face, problems with keeping clothes on,

tags and itchy fabric or appliques), but has low sensitivity in his

mouth which causes slobbering and grinding teeth and he is nearly 4

yrs. other than the sensory issues he is developmentally ok so far. i

have read somewhere that removing the mercury if it is present may

alleviate allergies? too many questions!

My kids have food allergies which are improving with chelation.

heard of celiac

Several people who have children with a celiac diagnosis, their

children have been able to return to eating gluten after chelation.

So I believe there is at least a subset of celiac which is metal

triggered.

Here is a site for general celiac information.

Sensory issues can be food and/or metal related.

and,

My chelation page, which gives a general description and references to

other sources for more information

Well I hope that helped.

here is part of a research article about how mercury interferes with

the enyzmes used to digest gluten and casein:

here is a glossary -- brief definitions -- of some terms, including

chelation:

/files/Glossary

the FAQ for this list will also tell you a little more about chelation:

and here is Dana's page about chelation:

Some people do have dramatic changes when they eliminate certain

foods. I went on a two-three week elimination diet when I learned I

had RA. (You can find guidelines on the Internet--you simply

eliminate typically troublesome foods for that period of time and

them slowly reintroduce them, watching for problems.) I found it

valuable. Mainly, I made a connection between eating dairy products

and sinus troubles. Changing my diet didn't dramatically improve my

RA, but I'm doing well, and good food choices contributes to that.
