Guest guest
Guiafenesin is a drug which causes mucus membranes to secret and is often used in cold medications or alone to help break up congestion so the body can " sweep away " detrius from the lungs, bronchial tubes, throat, nose, sinuses, etc. I have used it for many years to loosen thick mucous (I have Sjogrens Syndrome which causes muscous to be " dry " more like liquid rubber cement). I did read a few years ago that it was being used in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Whether or not it helps is a moot question for me. One doctor wanted to diagnosis fibromyalgia for me but all of my symptoms can be explained with the Sjogrens and Reactive Arthritis. Guest guest
Hi TJ I sense your confusion with all the information you are getting about FMS. That is the best way to cope with this miserable disease.information not confusion Firstly the one thing that is important to remember is that like all arthritic medication Cellebrex contains aspirin so DO NOT take anything containing aspirin of any kind. It is not only a bad thing for the stomach but, aspirin is a blood thinner and any medication that thins blood is a NO NO. Secondly, Fibromyalgia is not curable. it can however have periods of remission. It is the most frustrating of diseases and you can read a pro and a con in the same article. Thirdly, there is no absolute treatment, it is a case of treating the symptoms. My Fibro is over 10 yrs now and at the moment have a bit of a handle on it but, I know it won't last. I have gone from an invalid to planning a 3 week trip to California to see old friends. accompanied of course. Beside the pain control the next big hurdle is the depression that takes hold. Find yourself a good Dr.knowledgable about pain management, who will listen to you. Take the info you glean from the articles you read and get his opinion. Remember what works for one does not always work for another and you must resign yourself to a lot of disappointments. You need to have a good muscle relaxer, an antidepressant, sleep aid, stress management and a pain management regime. Most importantly keep in touch with the group, voice your frustrations. I will be watching with interest your progress, try to stay away from band-aid treatments but all in all try to keep your prospective. Guest guest
Who said the Guafesin cures FMS? I went to the Doctor in Marina Del Rey that had discovered this. I forgot his name St. Something? Anyway the problem is that you cannot wear makep, or eat certian foods etc..there are numerous things that you can't eat, drink or makep etc. I am curious where you got this information from,,What Publication???
