Guest guest
I read that someone here has new swelling with their knee but x-rays of hands and feet were negative. There are two possible explanations. If you haven't had the problem for very long or if you have been treating from early on with disease modifying drugs, your joints may not have damage that is visible yet but later it may become visible. Or the second explanation is that you have a non-deformying type of arthritis. That is what they think I have- arthritis in conjunction with Sjogren's Syndrome that is a inflammatory but non-deforming. I am plaquenil and have been on it for almost nine years. I have been on a low dose of medrol for the last year and a half. As someone else mentioned, I was recommended by both my Belgian rheumatologist and internal medicine doctor to take Medrol instead of prednisone because it has less side effects. At least for me, it didn't cause any weight gain like prednisone had in the past and also my blood cholestrol level hasn't risen either which it had with prednison. in Belgium (but moving back to the States in less than six months)
