Guest guest
Actually, I was trying to convince my mom to move to Lubbock. She says she hates Houston, but she thinks she will lose her pension if she leaves her job... She is a nurse...is this true, can she lose her pension?? She is planning to work until she is 67 and she is only 49. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm still interested in the Broda diet...looked > > > > > for the book > > > > > while out shopping last weekend, but the B & N I was at > > > > > didn't have > > > > > it, and I ran out of steam before I got to another > > > > > bookstore! Guest guest
Sharon, Is the first appt and allergy testing done consecutively (in two days)? My mom can give me injections, she is a nurse. I can also give myself injections... Do you know of any environmental/allergy doctors in houston that you would recommend? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm still interested in the Broda diet...looked > > > > > > for the book > > > > > > while out shopping last weekend, but the B & N I was at > > > > > > didn't have > > > > > > it, and I ran out of steam before I got to another > > > > > > bookstore! Guest guest
Uncle Sam's New Rules for Retirees. Those born, I believe, at or before 1934 still retire for full SS at 65, less at 62, but us younger ones retire on a formula that depends on how old we are in increments. It's stupid and it's just another way for the Feds to keep more of our money. I think mine is like 67 also, but I'm taking the other way out, with the Divorced Widow's Pension. I can hardly wait. Watch them change that law right in the yr before I attain age 60, that would be about right. On her personal job pension, with her present employer, that depends, I suppose she would, if she quit. Guest guest
Levelland is right next to it. It is definitely level land, everywhere you look. I lived in Levelland with my first husband, as a young chick, and I abhorred it, was very boring to me. Dry dirt blowing everywhere you looked, and not much vegetation. Of course now I live on the Gulf Coast for the last 35 yrs, where the vegetation is lush and green, and the air pollution could kill an elephant. I think it's the chemicals and steroids in the air that make the plants and trees so big and green, actually. I actually grew up further North in Childress, Tx., but it was even dryer the last time I was there. Re: Re: (Courtenay-food tips) Tips #1-3 (attempt two) We think about it all the time. My husband loved Lubbock when he was in school and for the 10 years he lived there. Me, I love the high desert!
Guest guest
Chicken, in traditional Chinese medicine, is warming. Pork, however, is cooling. I am on a cooling diet because I have " liver heat " , as evidenced by certain symptoms and the redness of the rim of my tongue. TCM/acupuncture is 2,500 year old medicine form. Whatever the acupuncturist has suggested so far has actually worked. So, I'm happy and I've got more energy. Best-- Courtenay. --- cstherineflores wrote: --------------------------------- Why no chicken??? Cath
Guest guest
Interesting. What are the other symptoms. Courtenay wrote: Chicken, in traditional Chinese medicine, is warming. Guest guest
We very seriously considered moving to Lubbock at one time. :-) Somehow we picked Wyoming instead ... I am feeling leaps and bounds better with the fresh air, little to no stress, etc. I need to be better about my diet, though! I have been reading with interest the posts about Celiac, gluten sensitivities, food allergies, and BB diet. I know there's a key in there somewhere for me. This morning we had pancakes and I just HAD to lay down after breakfast and sleep ... I haven't had to do that in months! > > Have you ever thought about moving to Lubbock? > > > > Yahoo! for Good > > Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Guest guest
I get this thing after I eat, even now, where I have to sit for about twenty minutes after I eat (or nap).... Is that just one of the oh-so-fun side effects of hypoglycemia? And Sharon, I don't know how you managed for all of those years! I mean, my symptoms had kind of a creep effect over a ten year period, but when the big one came-- it was really obvious that something was wrong. I'm so glad that you caught up with your illness. Best-- Courtenay. --- smr79410 wrote: --------------------------------- , I used to have these terrific reactions to certain foods. I would eat certain things and immediately go into what I called a " food coma " . These started about 11 years before I was diagnosed. How I ever made it to the day I got diagnosed, I will never know!!!!! A large part of my getting better involved food allergy testing. I was tested for 75 foods I ate all the time. I was allergic to 65 of them. I took 6 allergy shots for a year. Again, the change was very slow. I would say that I did not even see any change until at the end of the year, I started to re-add food to my diet and it didn't make me sleepy or make me itch or make my brain fog. Amazing! Guest guest
The sleepy thing happens to me if I eat wheat! they say that's a sign of food allergy. It can also be reactive hypoglycemia for me. steph
