Well, I had my surgery last night. Went in about 730pm and came out

about 900pm. I got home around 1100pm. They wanted me to stay, but

I couldn't afford it. I was an inpatient all last week and I have a

copay of $250 for that. If I stayed last night, then it would have

been another $250. So, I decided to go home. Actually, it was

anesthesia that wanted me to stay because of all the medications

they gave me. They were just looking after me, my mother hens, so

to speak!! It took 3 of them to finally get an IV in me. My veins

are still shot from last week. They had to put a new IV in me

nearly every day last week because they kept infiltrating (going bad)

and my one and only " good " veing is still recovering from phlebitis

from last week. Oh well.

They finally did get one in, after multiple sticks!! When I said it

took 3 people, I ment 3 anesthesiologist. Then one of the nurses

tried as well, so I guess that make it 4 people! I think the

prednisone has made my veins bad as well as the fact that I was

dehydrated. <sigh>>>.

Well, my surgeon had told me that my MRI showed fluid buil up in my

knee and some synovitis (inflammation of the synovium, the soft

tissue surrounding the knee bones) as well as a little wear on the

patela which he said is from the RA. But, since it has been getting

more and more painful, he said it was time to scope it. Since I

hadnt' eaten or drank anything that morning and that I am off owrk

util Monday, he said he would try and get me in right away. So, his

office called my surgery department and they said that they would

make room for me. It's so nice to have friends like that!!

So, he did my surgery, and I have to say that it feels so much

better, already. I have the usuall surgical pain, but the knife

jabbing pain I had all around my knee is gone, so far. I looked at

the pictures he took during the surgery and I have to say that it

looked worse than what the MRI had said. There was a cartlige tear

and some errosion on the lower patela. I also had a lot of

inflammation, probably from the RA, in the synovium and he shaved

that done a little, as well.

I need to call his office today to go in for a dressing change. I

also need to get my return to work release from him, as well. I'm

not looking forward to go there in the snow. Hopefully the roads

have been cleared off. I need to fill my prescription, as well.

Yes, I have someone to drive me. His office is over 40 miles away,

but since his nurse will be changing the dressing, I'm hoping they

will let me go to the office that's 30 miles away.

Thank you for the prayers and voiced concern. I truely do

appreciate it so much. I am so blessed to have friends and family

like you. Thanks again........Gentle hugs to all, Marina
