Guest guest
There are no proven dose-related benefits to taking Vit E in dosages greater than 800IU daily, for pre-symptomatic people wanting to reduce their individual risk factor for developing dementia. So, I'd take 800IU or 1000IU and leave it at that. Yes, always check with your physician before starting any new med (even " innocent " Vit's). If you're taking a blood thinner like Coumadin, it could be dangerous to also take high dosages of Vit E. Vit C is also helpful in reducing free-radical cell death. Proper diet is essential. Here are some websites re: Vit E. http://www.alz.org/Media/newsreleases/archived/071100Research2.htm http://www.alz.org/ResourceCenter/ByTopic/vitaminE.htm Vitamin E Thank you Russ for answering my question about not testing other organs. Could you please speak a bit on Vitamin E. What is the recommended dosage for prevention? Are there any contradictions/interactions/warnings that we should be aware? Thanks, Courage
