Guest guest
I am so pleased to read that you have managed to get at least some improved care for your Grandpa. Your post really drags up the memories for me! I CAN IDENTIFY SO STRONGLY WITH ALL YOU DESCRIBE. Yes, the hospital completely messed up with my dad. They were all out of their depth and so resorted to Lorazepam and the hope of swift death - aided by their incompetence and lack of basic human caring. My dad was aggressive and difficult. Agreed. He refused to eat and drink. Agreed. He refused all medication. Agreed. BUT they responded by allowing his 'refusals' to determine his grisly, grotesque, barbaric end. It was as if they decided to let him die. I am so glad your Grandpa has better prospects on this new ward but how disgraceful that here in the UK we have to 'fight' and bully to get basic nursing care! Take care I'm praying for you Sally xxxx
