Here is a web site that should help you. It is a type of dementia that

usually happens to people who are or have been alcoholic's. If I remember

right it is caused by severe depletion of thiamine (B1).

Is this Wernecki's/Korsicoff's disease found through blood tests? It

seems that my dad had blood work for that...to rule out yet another

possibility. As we all know, there is no definate way to prove LBD

without autopsy, but there are determining factors to look for. My dad

was poked, prodded, and electronically scanned throughout his whole

body. The only test I declined was having spinal fluid taken and

tested. Then, by process of elimination, and much clinical testing it

was determined that my dad had LBD.
