Guest guest
, The cream helps with establishing hormonal balance in women who are estrogen dominant. Estrogen dominance (too much estrogen in comparison with progesterone) can cause all kinds of problems such as heavy bleeding, PCOS, weight gain, fatigue, mood swings, loss of libido, fibroids, tender breasts, endometriosis, PMS, memory loss, migraines, cold hands or feet, and many other symptoms. I'm not saying you are necessarily estrogen dominant but it is common and often accompanies hypothyroid conditions. You do have a goiter, PCOS, and have gained weight and feel bloated. If you have any questions about natural progesterone cream, I highly recommend joining http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalAlternativesToHRT They know much more about it than I do. I was really educated reading Dr. Lee's book, " What your doctor may not tell you about premenopause. " I've had hypothyroid and estrogen dominance for years. I'm 45 now but then again, as you age, symptoms have a tendency to get more severe, without proper treatment. You've gotten really good advice here about diet and synthetic female hormones. As for Armour versus Synthroid, many people have found that Armour works better for them (including me). You are already being proactive about your health by joining forums such as these. That is great. The more you learn, the better. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor lots of questions. It looks like your doctor will be testing for thyroid antibodies, which will determine if you have autoimmune thyroid disease such as Hashimoto's or Graves (I hope not). You should also ask for, in addition to TSH for thyroid, also Free T4, Free T3, ferritin, and folic acid tests. People who are hypothyroid are often low in iron stores, folic acid, and so forth. If you often feel like you are so fatigued that you " crash " for hours or days, you might ask for an A.M. Cortisol test. Who did you say your doctor was and where do you live? I'm sorry if you posted this before and I missed it -- I looked but couldn't find it. Oh, eventually you might want to ask your doctor to test your estrogen and progesterone levels too. Let us know how it goes, okay? Feel free to post your test results here on the forum, especially the TSH, Free T4, Free T3, ferritin, and antibodies. There are many knowledgable people here who can give you sound advice. Such complications can be frustrating, especially for someone as young as yourself. Folks here are only trying to be helpful, though. And you do have choices. You don't have to take what your doctor prescribes. You can discuss your preferences, or find another doctor. Good luck and keep in touch! > What does that cream help with??? I don't really have any discomfort... I just have the > weight gain, belly bloating, acne (which is now under control). Guest guest
, I live in The Woodlands, south of Conroe. I am seeing Dr. Zaniewski-Singh in Conroe. So far she seems to be quite thorough and she seems to care how I feel too. And as for young, I may be 31, but I feel so old with how tired and sleepy I am all the time! rebecca > > What does that cream help with??? I don't really have any > discomfort...
